ROCKFORD, Ill (WTVO) — Two women were arrested Saturday after allegedly attacking another woman over a personal dispute, according to the Rockford Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the 100 block of North Court Street around 10:35 a.m. for a reported battery.
Investigators said surveillance video showed the victim walking southwest from the 100 block of North Court Street when 38-year-old Latanya Holiday and 40-year-old Chrystal Anders began following her.
Detectives said Holiday tackled the victim to the ground and punched her several times while Anders kicked the victim as she lay underneath Holiday.
Officials said bystanders broke up the fight, and the victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries to her back, arms, and head.
Court documents show that when officers asked Holiday why the fight began, she said she had previous problems with the victim and accused her of harassment. Anders told officers the victim had previously “messed with her husband,” according to court records.
Holiday and Anders were arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated battery in a public place and mob action.
Both are being held in the Winnebago County Jail.

We lived in Rockford for 15 years, some of the best years of our lives. The altercation took place less than two blocks of my church, and in the shadow of the courthouse (hence the name of the street, and a short walk to two different jails).
