Keep the whole year’s worth of Sunday Morning Talk Show Threads in “Breaking News.”
Going back just a month and a half shows too little respect for what history is actually now expected, there.
We all could be posting more threads, here. I know I used to post up to ten medical news threads here, a day, and I have a backlog I could put on.
The mods seem to all be on a monthly cycle, but that bad week seems to never end.
It isn’t just the finances...its attracting new viewer who become regular lurkers and eventually registered users and supporters.
There are waaaaaay too many days when hours pass between fresh articles postings.
And, yes, much (but not all) of that is evidenced by our evey expanding Memorial Wall.
We owe those faithful ones—and, especially, JimRob—a commitment to persevere and expand this fine work!
But you see...
This vanity is “positive” and looking for solutions.
The vanity yo referenced is negative and disparaging.

I have no idea what is in “Breaking News”
I have it turned off in my “settings”.
I go back to Jim Rob’s White Water papers. Thus I guess I am a Free Republic original zero along with many others. I lurked for about a year and then joined as a member and a dollar a day contributor. 100 bucks a quarter is money well spent. At one time I used auto deduction from my credit card. The left successfully made this difficult by “de banking” Free Republic. Today I am back to my orginal contribution method. Each new quarter I send a 100 dollar check to Free Republic. October is near thus a new check will be cut for Free Republic.

I have meet Jim Robinson at several meetings over the years. He was a frail man in a wheelchair. However, he was a hell of a man with iron fortitude and logic. That frail man was a giant. I was “CHARLIE THE COOK.” Over the years I have served Jim Rob my cooking. It was a privilege to do so. This was at the Texas Cowboy Shoots. HE WAS A GIANT!
as far as finding a bank, maybe FR could check into Old Glory Bank founded by patriot county singer John Rich.
in terms of advice on how to survive, i’d call Mike Lindell, or Torba at Gab. they seemed to have found or created alternative financing for their businesses.

But over the last three or four years I noticed things slowing way down; the speed of article postings dropping considerably until now it's at the point where I go elsewhere, including the unfortunately anti-Semitic "Liberty Daily" to keep up on the latest breaking news and leftist calumny.
It seems that this site is dying an increasingly quick death, and here's why I think that's the case: For one, it's obviously aging out - a lot of poster/commenters are in their 70s, 80s and 90s, and as they die off, there doesn't seem to be younger blood rushing in to fill the gap.
Then there's the site design itself - it's severely antiquated, so younger folks, most importantly the Charlie Kirk set, aren't going to want to deal with having to insert HTML into a post or comment just to, for instance, create a new paragraph.
Another possible reason for its loss of activity is that unlike when it was formed, there are a lot more right-of-center websites and several other forums to choose from. Then there are commenting platforms like X and Rumble, which have tons of traffic. So competition is pretty fierce now.
A final thought, and this one will cause some rancor: The animosity created between folks here due to COVID and the Russia/Ukraine War has probably driven significant numbers of people from this site. I've been guilty of contributing to some of that, but only in response to all the Yook-loving clowns here whose primary geopolitical concerns and loyalties aren't tied to the wellbeing of the United States and the traditional West, but to the corrupt country of Ukraine and the grifters and scumbags who have been handed billions of US taxpayers' money to aplky with and waste. Those usually Trump-hating clowns have been a real turnoff here.
So, what are some possible solutions to keeping FR alive and timely? Update the site format, making it more user friendly for all, including younger folks. Make it more flashy for the younger set too. No more HTML, just type, cut and paste, and go. I think that change alone would stop the death slide and allow time to try other changes that might bring it back closer to its glory days. Paid subscriptions for premium features? Advertising? Public events/get-togethers? GoFund me drives for conservatives under attack by leftist/globalist scum? Interviews? Organized, direct action events? Visibly hooking up with great conservative organizations like TPUSA? You get the idea.
If things don't quickly change here it's a short matter of time before the party's over. . .

One thread features an idiocy, which has gone without comment by the denizens of that thread who the FR user had pinged.

I would not mind seeing improvements on how we can share vintage magazine articles, as I have a collection of American Rifleman ones that I would like to share more easily.
Doesn’t work for me. In any case, you can’t italicize, change text color, do a strikethrough or make text bold here without using HTML, nor can you drag and drop text and have it retaiun its original formatting, nor is posting pics quick and easy.
That might all be OK for the old-timers here, but most young folks aren’t going to hassle with any of it.
(Hey, I was able to make a paragraph without HTML. Cool. Must have been a browser issue on my end.)
If that’s a “plus” for you, fine. But I doubt it is for most people, especially for the younger set, which needs to be attracted to FR if it is to survive long-term.

I don’t think any of that attracts the “younger set.” I think good content attracts everyone.
Yeah, that crew is mostly composed of nutty, obsessed one-trick ponies. Boring as hell, humorless, vindictive, dumb as a box of rocks and willing to lie about, insult and slander anyone who rains on their Yook-worshipping, RuZZia-hating parade. A total turnoff.
It's 2026, not 1996, and like it or not, slick-looking websites will naturally attract more viewers, especially younger ones, than dull-looking, monochromatic ones.
