FR hasn't really changed much over the decades I've been on it. And I know many people have supported it directly financially (I have in the past as well).
I'd love to see them use some of that money to improve the service. I'm not knocking them for wanting to make a profit on what they developed, but complacency leads to death. As our crowd gets older we need newer users to join to keep the community growing.
So what features would you love to see FB add that you'd be willing to donate to get?

My first post on FR was in 2003.
These days I’m exclusively a reader.
My opinion:
Please, no changes.
No like/dislike, no thumbs up/down, no ignore function, no ability to host/post pics.
FR, and least from my perspective, is based on conversation.
Earlier it was suggested that a search function would help.
What I do is open a thread, type CTRL+F, and that allows me to search that page.
And with that I return to always reading, seldom posting.
Pretty sure they mean search for articles not text within an article.

Normally they make that an option for people who don’t want their info hacked.
Typically it’s OPTIONAL for sites like this. For people who know a simple PW is not secure and prefer to keep their account and history without it being hacked.
For those that don’t care...they don’t have to use it.
Surely you don’t object to those that want more security for THEIR account do you? As long as it doesn’t impact you and your simple ID/PW method, right?
I mean I probably won’t do 2 factor on FR either. But offering it would be nice.
Those are typically cloud fare hosted sites verifying you’re not a bot. It’s not really about security, but rather internet scrapers and bots. Cloud fare will charge the scrapers $$$ for access to the data/sites. And bots aren’t allowed (typically).
You know I bet if they took the DISCOURSE software (which is free) they could probably make it so that all the new features people want are there, and for those that like the limited 1990s style webpage could also view it in that fashion.

I didn’t say one thing about “Captcha”. The purpose of this is to greatly reduce the risk of having an acc’t (such as a zombie acc’t) taken over, and greatly reduce the number of multi-nick trolls.
At the very least, when multiple threads are posted about the same topic, the ability to get them merged into one long thread would be useful. Then I don’t have to go through multiple threads on the same topic and I only have to comment once, instead of commenting on several threads about the same topic.
I’ve done numerous searches, several variations, that didn’t find a thread I know exists.
Sometimes the software glitches (or our computers do) and our pending post just sits there, and we don’t know if it’s posted or not, so we hit it again. Then it posts the comment twice. It would be nice to be able to delete the second one.
