President Trump has reportedly rejected a seven-day cease-fire proposed by Iran and expects to resume bombing the country after the midterm elections.
As part of the proposed cease-fire, Tehran pledged to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume negotiations on dismantling its nuclear program in exchange for the US ending its blockade of Iranian ports.
However, Trump is “skeptical” Iran will agree to his demands and has told aides it is “likely” the US military restarts airstrikes after the November contests, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing US officials.
It’s unclear what level of strikes Trump is planning on launching.
In his speech at the United Nations General Assembly earlier this week, Trump warned that with peace negotiations stalled, he could choose to “annihilate” Iran.
The White House did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

I bet 350 - 500 MILLION USD per day that Iran wants to talk and end this.
That blockade is hurting them.
Our bombings seriously degraded their navy, air force and air defense. We seriously reduced their drone and missile manufacturing. We threw their nuclear program back by as much as 2 years.
All that, despite Iran investing billions over years to counter us and having some Russian and Chinese help. This despite them building specialized / purpose built bunkers to defeat our most capable bunker busters which we turned to rubble anyway.
Our missile defense works, 92-96%.
We decapitated their leadership.
This was done quickly, with minimal collateral damage, few losses on our side. The kill ratio was so one sides that stating what is in this case likely somewhat factual appears fake >200:1.
We cleared a water minefield in Hormuz quickly, where again an enemy had YEARS to prepare.

Trump is 100% right. We hold the cards. We have all the leverage. The ONLY thing which can stop us, is us. If our internal political process allows for some maggot to score some political capital out of this by going against the war and this actually adversely impacts the war, that’s us doing this to us.

Everything is safer now that these lunatics are on the ropes and Trump isn’t playing their game anymore. They aren’t on the cusp of a nuclear weapon and they have no money to fund Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis. Its just a matter of keeping them on the ropes until they are taken down from within.
Im not loving living through this either but its highly preferable to a nuclear winter.

The US must come out of this with a strong trade partnership with Iran, to include naval basing rights. Iran will become the major platform for the propagation of the gospel for the entire Middle East.
