It’s not every day you get to call an accused serial sex pest mayor an “accused serial sex pest” to his face…
While an alarming number of law enforcement officers nationwide are getting suspended, fired and/or arrested for abusing Flock cameras to stalk their exes, Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner and Police Chief Wayne Jones are fighting Florida’s new ban on Flock cams and license plate readers (LPRs).
No wonder: Meiner left his job at the SEC while reportedly under investigation for being a creeper and allegedly sexually harassing three female co-workers, and Chief Jones was once arrested for battery and kidnapping after breaking into his estranged wife’s home.
The city has a major civil rights problem and is currently defending two First Amendment retaliation lawsuits over the mayor and chief’s abuse of power — weaponizing government to stifle dissent and silence critics.

Billy Corbin: Good afternoon. Billly Corbin, business owner on Lincoln here in Miami Beach. I'm here on a rare occaision in support of an item. But it's already lost.
I'm in support of C7BE to have a moritorium on license plate readers or flock cameras, which I understand failed, and a different version, a version that the mayor proposed to subvert Governor Ron DeSantis's very justifiable moritorium and ban on these LPRs.
And I think the problem is, is that the City of Miami Beach has a civil rights problem. You have not one, but two First Amendment lawsuits that the taxpayers are paying to defend, and it's not so much that we don't trust the police officers. We don't trust you.
We don't trust leadership of the City or leadership of at the police department in the event that a police officer does engage in misconduct, that there's going to be real accountability.
Why is that? Because the mayor sent his Tonton Macoute to harass a resident and veteran for a facebook message he didn't like. There was no discipline or accountability.
There's been armed police officers escorting speakers out of this room before they even had their allotted time to speak. There's been no accountability for that.
And the bottom line is there's been no less than four police officers in the state of Florida who've been disciplined, fired or arrested for abusing these cameras to stalk exes.
And we have a mayor who himself is an accused serial sex pest forced to resign from his job at the SEC because he was accused by multiple women for sexual harassment.
We have a Police Chief, all due respect, who was arrested for breaking into his estranged wife's home and attempting to kidnap her.
So we don't want you to be tracking us, and we don't want you to be tracking your exes. It's time to put your foot down and stand up for the Civil Rights of your constituents.
