Last week Tim talked with Jesse Lehrich, who walked through a scenario where the D’s wind up with 54 Senate seats a few weeks from now.

That’s crazy. But not as crazy as it sounds. There is a path. All Dems have to do is run the table on the Big 5 races,1 win a gettable Iowa, and then luck into Kansas. Hell, if you want an even bigger hit of the dragon, you can get to 56 seats if there’s a backlash to Darline Graham in South Carolina and Dan Osborn overperforms in Nebraska.
What would Democrats do with 56 senators?
This would be a caucus with instantly vulnerable freshmen in Alaska and Texas. The South Carolina senator would be an assumed one-termer. There would be an independent from a red state. And John Fetterman.
Suddenly that 56-seat best-case scenario looks awfully soft.

Oh, come now...there's "no difference" and we should sit this one out. Multiple people here have said so...Thune is still stalling Trump's nominees, even though he went nuclear multiple times to approve them in bulk (somehow they missed all of this), agenda items of Trump's were never passed that have the law for some time, etc. And apparently they actually believe that if there were to be a vacancy on the Supreme Court, the nomination would get through under Dem control. Crazy town.
Also, with the number of incumbents either defeated in primaries or seeing the writing on the walls and not running for re-election, they should actually be more excited and motivated to vote than ever - this is the big chance to really change the makeup of the caucus in a very big way. Yet, here they are - still encouraging people not to vote and claiming there is "no difference." There is no reality with these people. There is a difference - a huge difference - and it is a difference that could be even more dramatically pronounced with the amount of turnover there would be in the caucus. And yet, they still say "stay home." Indicates their motives are entirely different than what they have claimed.
If you listen to these “Republicans” on the Bulwark, they support no brand of Republicanism in the things they advocate. They are not Trump Republicans. They are not Reagan Republicans. They are not even Bush Republicans, McConnell Republicans - and not even Rockefeller Republicans. They oppose every single Republican policy across the board. They oppose Susan Collins’ re-election - she’s too radical for them. Yet they will claim they are just longing for the days of the Ronald Reagan Republican Party. Clearly not.
Ridiculous, embarrassing nonsense.
Biden was president for four years. Why didn’t he release the Epstein files. I don’t remember it ever being talked about.
No one ever thought or claimed she was a conservative? How often do Republicans actually support conservative candidates?
Here’s is what the Democrats will do with 54 seats:
1. Shut down government.
2. Open the border by refusing ice and border funding.
3. Raise federal taxes on middle class and ‘rich’
4. Protect illegal aliens, especially voters.
5. Destroy the SCOTUS
6. Bury the Epstien files to protect democrats.
7. Stop investigations into taxpayer money theft.
8. Bailout California, New York, and Illinois and there teachers unions funds.
9. Impeach Trump
10. Allow Chinese to dump products from slave labor onto the US market by allowing Canada to call them Canadian.
11. Refinance partisan political agencies like USAID, support terrorism and Iran, support murdering of Jews….because they are Jewish.
12. Attack and investigate Christian’s because the are a ‘terrorist’ threat
13. Fund the Ukraine war
14. Mandatory vaccinations
15. Label and remove any speech as hate speech that exposes democrats

They could try to pack the court but the president doesn’t have to nominate them or he can keep sending nominations of those he knows will be rejected...hence the court doesn’t pack
That’s what a RINO thinks would happen, which requires both not listening to what Dems say they will do AND total amnesia about 2018-2020, which is why it’s a RINO.
What they will do if they win is:
- Impeach every Trump official possible. Twice. Maybe three times; whatever it takes to slow or stop actual work
- Pass a “hand AI control over to leftist bureaucrats” bill which will get vetoed
- Pass gun control bills which will get vetoed
- Pass a war powers act which will get vetoed but RINOs may help override a veto
- Pass a myriad of other communist bills which will go nowhere, and lots of unbinding resolutions
- This one especially: form investigating committees on Everything, demand officials spend their every working day being grilled, and demand impossible documentation on everything with subpeonas and contempt charges that Rs don’t dare levy.
- Absolutely stop anything like vote fraud investigation or work to stop vote fraud.
In short pretty much like 2018-2020 — total stop to all progress, our enemies emboldened, and 2028 capped off by an AI or other planned catastrophe, violence, and vote fraud extravaganza.
I don’t think Trump will allow himself to be Penced again. I know for sure there’s an absolute groundswell of quiet persons who are fully expecting the above and have no intention of quietly complying their way into oblivion. I also know the left is ginning up their people to not accept *not* getting all of that, so 2027 should be “interesting.”

I really worry that a Democrat majority (with Republican assistance) will unofficially set the Constitution aside and make sweeping governmental changes — the Legislative Branch will say “Yes” and the Judicial Branch will say “Yes”, and everyone knows Trump is Hitler, so the Executive Branch won’t matter.
“Veto”? “Veto” you say? That will be an old-fashioned obsolete Slave Master concept which may not be operative in the future. They will deem it so and they may get away with it.
