CNN, MS NOW, Politico reporters turned away from White House hours after judge orders access restored

Reporters for CNN, MS NOW and Politico were blocked from entering the White House complex Thursday morning, hours after a DC federal judge ruled President Trump’s ban on the three media outlets was likely unconstitutional.

In an eight-page order, US District Judge Tim Kelly told administration officials to immediately return reporters’ press passes that were confiscated Saturday and blocked enforcement of Trump’s ban for 14 days.

However, an unidentified Politico journalist, CNN correspondent Betsy Klein and MS NOW reporter Laura Barrón-López were denied entry after presenting themselves at a Secret Service checkpoint.

He can’t. But he *can* say that allowing some organizations in and not others is a violation. What he can’t additionally do, though, is say *who* the White House lets in from those organizations. They let at least one CNN and one MS NOW person in. They followed the technical order of the judge. And they can say to as many people as they want from CNN and MS NOW, “nope, not this person - send someone else.” And they can keep that up as long as CNN and MS NOW have more people to send.
