Has anyone else noted Islam creeping its way into crossword puzzles? I've seen this occurring with increasing frequency over the last few months. Today I saw 3 clues in 3 puzzles: "Religion with five pillars (Islam)"; "Mosque prayer leader" (Imam); and "Muslim feast" (Eid).

There are a lot of vulgar words used in crossword puzzles if you read the right ones. Major retailers carry adult-only puzzle books like XXX Word Puzzles at Barnes & Noble and Twisted Mind Crosswords at Books A Million. Just gotta find the right business. No different.

Every part of the “creative,” or “literary” sphere, has been infested by the “woke mind virus.” Publishing, movies (of course), video games. Everywhere there are brain-proud young creative types has turned hard left.

I just received a batch of new puzzle books from KAPPA and the HERALD TRIB puzzles as well as the LA TIMES had a number of moslim clues.
I was surprised. Moslims don’t do American crossword puzzles.
There are Christian references in American crosswords. Someone must have complained.
We are just handling the country over.
These are in an online crossword app. It includes the NY Times, WSJ, Universal Crossword, Newsday, USA Today, an WaPo Sunday crossword.
Not in the one I do daily.

The last one is really tough.
NYT. For the past 30 years. Every puzzle. Obviously a requirement

We got that whole stationed in Germany. They used the NYT crossword
It’s one within a Tim Hortons app called Tim’s word challenge. No clues just a wheel of letters used in the crossword. You then create words by using the available letters and they get automatically placed if you are correct. The layout is crossword like but no traditional clues. You usually get around half a dozen or so letters to work with. Never seen anything Islamic in it.
When the crossword is in Arabic, then you should start worrying.
Meh. The others are compromised and conquered.
Go Sudoku instead. :)
Just put a little snakey W with a head on one end in each block and you never get it wrong.

I’ve noticed them in the Dell and PennyPress crosswords as well.
