On September 14, 2026, Zelenksy responded to Trump's request:

"If our partners are ready to ensure that Russia genuinely refrains from striking our electricity system, other energy facilities, critical infrastructure, and food supply routes, then, of course, we are ready to ensure a corresponding halt to our strikes."

So, it turns out that Russians can stop Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure anytime they want to -- all Russians need to do is stop attacking Ukrainian infrastructure.

This suggests that Russians are rather enjoying the higher diesel prices which result from lower exports, and don't mind spending a few $millions to repair their equipment so long as it results in $billions more of additional oil revenues.
Why sell more product at lower prices when you can sell less product at higher prices?

Bottom line:

1. Russians average well over 100 drone & missile attacks on Ukraine per night, peaking at over 400 some nights, often resulting in dozens of civilian casualties and some deaths.

2. Ukrainian drone strikes on Russia vary considerably, occasionally several hundred drones in one night, targeting Russian energy & logistical infrastructure, but with few reported civilian deaths.
