>Zero evidence this exact deal couldn’t have been obtained without embarrassing ourselves and pissing off our allies.
They never opposed a single security request we made. Not one.<
Our allies need to be embarrassed. They been treating us like we’re chumps and DJT is putting a stop to it. As for the Greenlanders they need to think twice about cozying up to the Chicoms. Native peoples have a built-in dislike of their colonial masters and cozying up with the communists has too much of an element of payback. Trump has put a stop to that crap too.

Cuba-it’s gonna be awesome.

    False
  1. The 2026 Strait of Hormuz Coalition Rejections
  2. The 2026 European Airspace Lockout
  3. Poland's Patriot System Refusal (2026)
  4. The 2003 Iraq War Closures
  5. Extradition and Judicial Denials
  6. Paying Their Fair Share for NATO
  7. 1986 United States bombing of Libya (codenamed Operation El Dorado Canyon), three European allies famously denied the U.S. military overflight rights or the use of continental European bases:

None of that makes any sense. Trump had demanded U.S. sovereignty over Greenland and control of the minerals. He said that was important because it wasn't fair for us to pay for the security ourselves without getting all those mineral rights.

He got neither.

What he got was agreement by Greenland and Denmark to expand our security presence there -- which was exactly what the pre-existing agreement permitted us to do. Denmark kept saying exactly that all along-- "we already have an agreement to discuss expanded security, so why don't they just ask for what they need?"

So now Trump gets the exact same thing he could have gotten all along, except we went through that whole embarassing charade of threatening invasion, etc.. It was utterly pointless.

The frustrating part about it was that he was absolutely right to want to expand our defense presence there to counter Chinese and Russian moves in the arctic, which was something Obama and Biden had basically ignored. He just went about it in completely the wrong way and needlessly ticked off not only some foreign allies, but some of his political allies here in the U.S..

It's like rather than just opening the damn door to get into the next room, he just repeatedly bashed his head against the wall trying to smash his way through. Then eventually, he gave up, opened the door, and just walked through like he should have all along.
