The Houston County Sheriff's Office in Texas has released shocking video showing a 6-foot-7, 260-pound suspect, identified as Keon Dewayne Leonard, escaping from a moving patrol truck.
Originally arrested on September 3rd on a warrant for assault of a public servant or judge, Leonard managed to slip his two sets of handcuffs from behind his back to the front while seated in the back of the vehicle.
Dashcam footage captures the suspect repeatedly kicking the back window until it shatters before squeezing his massive frame through the broken glass to escape.
Following his dangerous exit from the truck, Deputy Jenefer Cruz pursued Leonard and successfully deployed a Taser to bring him back under control.
In addition to his original charge, Leonard now faces additional charges including evading arrest, attempting to escape while arrested, and destruction of property. He is currently being held in the Houston County Jail on a $40,000 bond, with a first court appearance scheduled for October 19th.

Video at link.
Driver should have put the pedal to the medal instead of stopping just as perp the exited the window, for maximum road rash.
Another Gentle Giant like Ferguson’s Michael Brown.
No way to NOT root for the dude, given the video.
Reminds me of my skating days back in the 70’s. We also were barefoot. Scars have faded but not the memories of peroxide.
Houston County is in the middle of nowhere, East Texas. County population is under 25,000.
Original charge: “Originally arrested on September 3rd on a warrant for assault of a public servant or judge”.
New charges: evading arrest, attempting to escape while arrested, and destruction of property.
What do you want to bet this guy does something else when in jail further adding to his sentence.
Should call him ‘Keon ‘Dewayne way’ Leonard’.
Now he is famous. Lots of “street cred” while he is in prison/jail. Seems like a good candidate to keep locked up.
Definite escape risk.
No street cred for him. A female cop took him down. He’ll be razzed for a long time.
Agreed!

With that size, agility, motivation and attitude, shouldn’t he be in the NFL?
All of that plus the upcoming felony record makes him a shoe-in
Someone needs to work on their handcuffing technique.
