I guess that's why Democrats voted against the COVID checks. Why they vote against all welfare spending. Because they oppose tariffs.

If it pulls the GOP over the finish line for the mid-terms, I’m all for it. Small price to pay. If the Democrats control Congress they’ll do everything in their power to derail the Trump economy. The Trump economy is poised for lift off and the tax and tariff revenue generated by it will more than make up for the dividend checks.
Governor Youngkin, who, contrary to Trump was dealing with a signficant surplus, refunded five hundred dollars to every Virginia taxpayer shortly before the 2024 election. The Dims still won total control of the VA government in that election.
I agree. This is the crap the left does…free healthcare, free whatever. The only thing that I might agree to is $5000 back based on earnings and taxes paid in as a “we owe you for being overtaxed”.
Internal polling must be pretty bad.
We never saw a penny from all the Covid promised cheques.
And while the Trump tax bill helped a little bit, the help was minimal and designated as temporary anyway.

Giving $5000 to every adult American - including welfare cases who don’t pay a cent in taxes - that’s not a conservative stance at all. A conservative would attempt to pay down some of the massive federal debt.
It would make a point if nothing else.
The United States is a debtor nation. Giving everyone money we don’t have is more of a socialist thing.
Oh, well. The measure will get stalled in Congress anyway. Maybe Trump was planning on that all along.
