Southern California woman allegedly stole over $400,000 from high school football team

An Orange County woman was arrested by the FBI Thursday for allegedly stealing more than $400,000 from a nonprofit organization created to support a high school football team.

The FBI raided the Aliso Viejo home of Julie Molina, 56, early Thursday morning. Authorities allege she stole the money while serving as treasurer for the Aliso Niguel High School football team.

She’s expected to make her initial appearance and be arraigned later Thursday in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana on four counts of wire fraud, according to a U.S. Department of Justice press release.

According to the indictment, from 2023 to November 2025, Molina executed a scheme to defraud the high school football booster club while serving as its treasurer.

Without the nonprofit’s knowledge, she allegedly diverted funds from the group’s bank account for her own personal expenses, including the mortgage on her home and to pay off credit card bills.

In June 2024, Molina wired approximately $131,523 from the nonprofit’s account through Federal Reserve facilities in New Jersey and Texas to an account in Santa Ana to pay off the remaining balance of her mortgage, prosecutors say.

To conceal the payments, Molina allegedly sent numerous emails to members of the nonprofit’s board, attaching false treasurer’s reports, according to the indictment.

In total, Molina allegedly misappropriated approximately $411,761 that belonged to the nonprofit.

“I think what’s also concerning is she’s a professional CPA, and so we do have concerns about whether there may be other victims,” said Asst. U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli. “I think if people do business with her, they should check their books.”

If convicted, Molina would face a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison for each count of wire fraud.

The thieving munchkin is only 50” tall, I think.

Also has a gambling problem, I’d “bet”.

Stealing from a high school football team isn’t as harmful as Somalians doing it from children who were supposed to be getting remedial education.

Or the former Mayor of Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick who embezzled millions of dollars from the federal program intended to go to disadvantaged and disabled young children.

To be fair he also stole millions from city services and using pay for play to grant contracts. Trump commuted his prison sentence partway through his time.

” Kwame Kilpatrick has not received a pardon from President Donald Trump. What he received, on January 19, 2021, was a commutation — an order that ended his 28-year federal prison sentence but left his 24 felony convictions, his supervised release, and his restitution debt fully in place.”

It wasn’t her fault. She was depressed.

I guess we can expect to see her on “American Greed”. I watched some of those shows last night while the president was talking/talking/talking in TX..some I’d already seen but watched again. A lot of them take place in OC where this story comes from and where we moved from. It doesn’t make sense that a high school ball team would need such resources..someone wasn’t paying attention!

OC used to have a great DA Matt Murphy - he’s left the DA’s office now but is central to a lot of the OC GREED stories.

This sort of thing happens all the time, all over the country. Too tempting. No real penalties. Even if they got a year in jail, plenty of people will do a year for 400 large.

SHE will get sentenced to 100 hours with an ankle bracelet monitor on alternate tuesdays, something silly like that.

They should flay that fat hog on the 50 yard line.

I believe people doing these crimes, and also violent crimes, to others, should have redundant organs removed for use by US citizens.

Otherwise, have them pay for their full stay from selling off all their assets and forced labor, once the money reimbursement from their organ sales can no longer cover their incarceration costs.
