A public bus became stuck in fresh cement after the driver chose to drive down a closed road and bus passengers moved the barriers blocking off the wet cement.

According to local outlet KYW, a bakery on the street where the incident occurred had been waiting two years for a large pothole outside of the business to be filled. A crew finally showed up and filled the hole with cement, and two minutes later a SEPTA public bus rolled up.

Surveillance video provided by the bakery showed two passengers getting off the bus and moving the barriers that were in front of the large hole filled with fresh cement. The bus then drove forward, ruining the renovation that was two years in the making, and getting stuck in the process.

Speak for yourself. I live in a small town in the midwest, where a lot of this nonsense doesn’t last long, if it shows up at all. I hate big cities and spend as little time in them as possible.

This is on those who moved the barriers but it's also on the city's department of transportation director. Either those holes were missing the steel plates while the concrete cured or all traffic should have been detoured, and coordinated beforehand the bus agency.

Once that bus driver entered that street, he or she was trapped.

This is the mindset of the bus driver and the 2 passengers who moved the barriers:

“But.... But.... This is how it works on the computer in my mom’s basement!”

video skips the crucial time period when the removal supposedly actually occurred AND skips the part where the barriers suddenly mysteriously appeared on top of the fresh concrete just to then get run over by the bus ... pretty fishy vid overall ...

Not so ... the removal by two blithering idiots is totally visible later in the video from a different camera angle. I suspect the barriers were stuffed under the right rear wheels later to provide some traction.

Same here, I live in a small town in the West and we have no big city problems at all here. No crowds of homeless people, very little crime, safe to walk down Main Street at 2 am, etc. Nearest big city to us is 160 miles away.
