Yes, but depends where you are. Different names for same thing….a tropical cyclone is what they are. In the Atlantic they are called hurricanes.

This story is nothing but climate change BS. There have been over almost 200
“Tropical cyclones” recorded to have passed near/over the islands.
What is rare is calling them hurricanes. So THAT is the point of distinction? Did you see that anywhere in this socalled report?

A typhoon is in the SOUTHERN Hemisphere. These are hurricanes because they are North of the Equator.
