Growing up in Milwaukee to be a Bears fan was sacrilegious - I didn’t know that at 8 years old.
My sports heroes were Walter Payton and Robin Yount; before the SuperBowls, World Series and MVPs. I believe another reason they have stayed with me to this day (59 yrs old) is I felt they never let me down. Great heroes to have.
I enjoyed watching Suhey and appreciated immediately what he added as a player only because I started to understand the game better. Great memories and Matt Suhey is a name that will stay with me.
I was in Vegas on business and decided to make a small wager just to heighten the excitement a bit. And the Bears were so heavily favored that the only bets to make a good return on were to bet the Pats heads-up or bet that Refrigerator Perry would score an offensive touchdown. So I bet on the Pats to win (and they got clobbered) and The ‘Fridge scored TWO running touchdowns on the day.
And the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded two days later.
