Abandoned LA mansion turns into party free-for-all — and wealthy neighbors are furious

A million-dollar mansion perched along Los Angeles’ legendary Mulholland Drive has become anything but a dream home — with squatters and trespassers turning the unfinished property into a late-night party pad.

The abandoned house at 7711 Mulholland boasts sweeping views of the city, but neighbors say its biggest attraction after dark is the empty property itself.

“It’s just right under the Universal Overlook, and people come at night, use it to party,” said Ted, a local resident who lives near the property, told FOX11. “There’s graffiti all over it, beer cans, and everything.”

Neighbors say the calls for help have been piling up while the mansion has deteriorated into an eyesore and nuisance.

“The house on the top of the hill has been an issue for a while,” community member Paul Stern told NBC Los Angeles.

The home was last sold in 2022, according to Zillow, which describes the property as a three-bedroom, three-bathroom mansion spanning more than 4,000 square feet.

Its estimated market value is now upwards of $1.47 million.

Photos show a luxurious glass room and deck overlooking Los Angeles — a jaw-dropping perch that would be the envy of any Hollywood Hills homeowner.

But now, the property is covered with graffiti and several of the home’s windows are gone. Property records show Walking Media Inc. as the current owner of the property, NBC reported.

While they’re in the house walk along the dark street and put nails under every tire.

It ain’t a “mansion” in my book with only three bedrooms.

Absolutely not.

A quick check revealed it’s 4161 square. Ft. It’s nothing more than a large home IMO.

Of course the nypost is notorious for exaggerating.....and California real estate is ridiculously over inflated.

The mansion is in fact not actually finished. When it was last sold, it had no kitchen, no sewer connection, no bathroom and no driveway or off-street parking

And never will. By the looks of it, it is likely condemned and could slide down the hill at any given moment.

“The house on the top of the hill

House on the side of a hill that's about to slide down it.

Color me conventional, but I question the competence of the architect who designed this, and the initial owner who approved it. Great view, tho.

With 4000 square feet, I’d expect at least 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths.

Sounds like a candidate for Jewish Lighting.

With democrats running the area, the whole neighborhood would burn down, no permits would be issued, the property would become worthless and low income housing would be built.

We just built a 3,000 sq ft concrete/ steel roofed home here in Missouri for a fraction of that figure. 3 bed and 3 bath. Cally prices are crazy.

“It ain’t a “mansion” in my book with only three bedrooms.”

And only 4,000 square feet. Worth only $1.4 million.

I agree with you, NOT a mansion.
