The radical left’s recent efforts to twist and downgrade 9/11 disgust me to the core — and it’s not because I was some type of hero in that tragedy: I was just a journalist then as I am now.
I’m outraged because I personally witnessed true heroism on Sept. 11, 2001, and in the days that followed: New Yorkers who survived and banded together to rebuild this city. Indeed, one might ask, did these heroes do too good of a job? Consider how many in this city now indulge their luxury to forget, or even shamelessly try to paper over what happened.
As we approach 9/11’s 25th anniversary, it’s hard to believe how much of the debate around this historically tragic event has changed. We have a US Senate candidate in Michigan who recently campaigned with an influencer who once said “America deserved 9/11.” Our mayor — a 34-year-old former rapper who studied anti-American “Africana Studies” — can’t bring himself to denounce the terrorist rallying cry “globalize the intifada.”
Instead, Zohran Mamdani, like much of the left, prefers to lament the war on terror and “Islamophobia.” Never mind that the latter, in reality, has lately been dwarfed by the rampant antisemitism that he likes to minimize.
Unspeakable crime
And then there’s the unspeakable crime that killed nearly 3,000 who were just showing up to their jobs that morning — janitors, secretaries, bond traders — a cross-section of the city and its moms, dads, daughters and sons. Never forget they perished alongside heroic first responders, who tried to save them.

ISLAMamdani sees it as success. The fact that he is the mayor of NYC shows the MoFos that “jihad by handsome means” political jihad works too.
Downgrading the 9/11 tragedy started long before Zoran took power. I think the MSM is to blame for that.
I wonder if that koranimal beeyotch who said “somebody did something” about 9-11 would say the same thing should some patriot put another hole in mamdummy’s melon?
Tragedy? No. An e earthquake is a tragedy. 9/11 was evil.
Commemorating “Some People Did Some Things Day”
Forget it, Jake. It’s New York.
You’re right.
Pearl Harbor in 1966 was the same distance timewise as 9/11 is this year. Anyone under 25 has no living memory of 9/11, just like most of us had no living memory of Pearl Harbor in 1966.
Furthermore, there is a revisionist history demon that comes with the advance of time. I bet in 1966 there were a bunch of hippies saying that we deserved Pearl Harbor because we were leaving Japan no options in halting oil shipments, etc. Indeed, per https://glencoe.mheducation.com/sites/0012122005/student_view0/chapter25/where_historians_disagree.html, Roberta Wohlstetter in Pearl Harbor: Warning and Decision (1962), undertook to answer the question of whether the administration knew of the attack in advance. On a parallel timeline basis, this is 2021.
What is different now vs then is the radicalization of the opposition. While some hippies probably believed Roosevelt stood and watched as our men died on Dec 7, 1941, they were likely not fans of Japan. Today, there is a demolition derby of leftists who think it’s racist to talk about the hijackers joined by nutjobs who think 9/11 was an inside job or the work of Israel etc. That radicalization has whittled down the impact of culture to reinforce the horrors and learnings of 9/11. Finally, as you note, the MSM is anti-9/11 for 51 out of 52 weeks of the year.
What needs to be done is for folks to talk to the Millennials and GenZers about that day, and not rely on the MSM or culture to do our job.
I’ll likely make this a thread later today. Thanks for the nudge.
"9/11" (they will call it something else) was the opening move in a war of conquest.
The big push for Muslim immigration in the USA (and Europe) came after the response to the opening move.
Part of the larger war of Islam versus infidel, but it began a significant new phase of that war.
It was not just a massacre. It was "the propaganda of the deed" (as the early Communists would say).
New Yorkers voted for this.
Yes. Do not elect an obvious radical anti-American Islamist as mayor then complain about how he behaves and who he consorts with, NY. You’re own damned fault.
Incredible how this country has changed in the past 25 years since 9/11.
Islamists murder 3000 people in New York, and 24 years later the voters in New York elected someone who is happy over the murders. I can’t understand that.
