A chunk of the Kennedy Center’s ceiling collapsed after a vicious storm plowed through Washington DC, leading a spokesperson to call it another “urgent” reason why the performing arts center needs to be overhauled.

Debris was scattered on the building’s red carpet in its Grand Foyer, images of the damage online revealed.

Kennedy Center spokesman Roma Daravai said it was “another example of the urgent need to close for renovation and revitalization, as our Chairman President Trump has championed.”

She said the failure comes from “decades of neglect and deferred maintenance by the previous leadership” — and called the building a danger to the public.

“No legitimate reason to further halt the renovations!!” Daravai posted on X.

The damage comes during ongoing litigation over the future of the Center, which its board wants to close for two years for renovations, which it claims are desperately needed.

Stuff the hole with newspaper, reinforce with chicken wire and a good coat of Spackle. All good to go! (demonKKKrats)

"Cue the Freepers upset over the renovations . . ."

Trump made sure his name going on the building was priority #1.

Too bad that time and money wasn't put into the ceiling.

If you gold plate a pig, it's still a pig.

The architect copied his own design for the US embassy in New Delhi. He also copied Mussolini’s Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana for a Savings and Loan Headquarters in Los Angeles. I’m guessing he wasn’t the most original or best architect in the world at the time.

It’s a sign from the Almighty. Restoring the center would be blasphemous. Clearly it is meant to be demolished and replaced with a duck pond.

I agree, there was too much time and money spent on the name. Therefore the damage is Trump’s fault.

The damage is not Trump's fault, and it is his duty to care for national treasures.

...AND it is shameful that he put his name on it, especially as priority 1.

What's next, the "Donald Trump Lincoln memorial"?

Whatever it takes to keep feeding his boundless ego.

He never lacks for confidence or self-promotion. Do you or anyone else think he might be compensating for something?
