Georgia cops kill baby donkey HeeHaw, and his owner demands justice

family’s beloved pet donkey was shot and killed by Georgia cops after the tiny ass allegedly confronted them when they ran through his pasture.

Hannah Israel, 30, said officers entered the family’s property in Cedartown — near the Alabama border — without notice at about 12:45 a.m. while chasing a suspect when they came across HeeHaw.

“They claimed he ran up to them braying and they thought they were in danger and shot and killed him after trying to Taze him,” Israel wrote on Facebook

"HeeHaw was raised in the house and did petting zoos he never knew a stranger,” Israel added. “And was shot and killed in his OWN pasture for doing what donkeys do. Alerting to a stranger.”

A haunting photo taken during the aftermath of the shooting showed Israel crying over the dead donkey, whose eyes remained wide open as it laid on the ground.

They claimed he ran up to them braying and they thought they were in danger saw an opportunity for a thrill-kill.

Some folks can’t seem to decide between hating police and decrying the defund-the-police movement.

And some people, such as you, get stuck on the horns of a false dilemma of their own creation.

The police profession in this country needs to be thoroughly reformed from top to bottom, in the way they are recruited, trained at the academy, hired, trained on the job, held accountable, and paid. See: There are other points of view than worshiping the police or wanting to abolish the police.

Well, this from one article doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the reporting:

'There is no way to know for sure how many cops use anabolic steroids to bulk up and project strength, but after sifting through mountains of anecdotal evidence and preliminary investigations, Hoberman conservatively estimates that there are thousands, “probably tens of thousands,” of officers who do. There is no definitive proof that steroids cause violent, erratic behavior, but the two are definitely correlated,'

At any rate, it doesn't seem to be affecting any of the cops I encounter. From what I've seen and read, poor education, poor judgment, and poor training - not to mention issues of morale in recent years - are greater problems.

I don’t think I’ve heard (read) a greater example of idiocy such as yours since I’ve been on this forum.

Some LEOs just don’t have the temperament for that line of work. Based on the initial info, the LEO that killed that donkey is one such officer.

Damn heartbreaking to see the girl crying over the body of that donkey.

I think you’re thinking of mules. Very dangerous. The old man i bought my current farm from raised 2 mules for packing/ hunting. One day he went out like any other and they nearly stomped him to death.

Google the incident and read other articles. News outlets often get things wrong in the rush to publish, and often disagree with one another.

I have no idea.

I was just responding to your statement that the cops were chasing a ‘suspect’, and the reports disagree on that.
