Hahahaha! I swear, there are so many peculiar dynamics in the military that are totally foreign to those who never served!

You was set up, man!

I never saw it, but was told that the corpsman in Sick Bay had stainless steel trays stacked with pre-drawn penicillin syringes!

I was no choirboy or prude, but that vision was enough to keep me away from that kind of activity!

Well. Couldn’t they release half the sailors on one side of the island and the other half on the other side so it didn’t tip over?

“A retired Navy friend claimed it was mostly the slugs, with someone to watch over them for the scut work. He said a hard charger would burn out to get it just right when that was not needed. The slugs would often find a quick way to get it done.”

I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about. Everybody has a “duty” day, from senior officers on down. 25% of the crew has to be on board at all times, even in homeport, for emergencies up to and including getting under way. It is a simple 4 day rotation.

My Thai friends tell me that when a Thai doesn’t care much for you, they smile at you. They don’t like to confront anyone, like westerners do.

It’s Rota. I’ve been there.

Rhoda was the chick who lived door next to Mary Richards in Minneapolis. Lots of laughs on that show.
