Crockett suggests she won’t campaign with Talarico, will focus ‘down ballot’

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) said she will focus on “campaigning down ballot” in Texas, suggesting that she won’t campaign with Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico after he defeated her in the party’s primary.

“We’ve seen the turnout that you can produce. Talarico might very well need that magnetism. Will you campaign with him?” CNN’s Laura Coates asked the congresswoman on Thursday.

“I will be campaigning down ballot,” Crockett said.

“Because when we’re looking at a state like Texas, we’ve tried this, where we’ve got one amazing candidate that’s running at the top of the ticket,” Crockett said, when asked why she drew the distinction.

She pointed to Democrat Beto O’Rourke, who came within a few points of ousting Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in 2018, as an example of a top-of-ticket candidate who was “raising all the money, doing all the things, running around the entire state, but it’s not enough.”

“And so for me, I think that making sure that people that maybe are getting overshadowed because it seems like it’s only about one big race, I think amplifying them, making sure that I can raise their profiles and introducing them to people, that’ll give something more to voters.”

Crockett, whose last-minute decision to enter the race for Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) seat roiled the Texas political landscape, lost the Democratic primary to Talarico this spring. The popular congresswoman, known for her viral moments in the House, pledged to support his bid — but she’s since kept her distance from Talarico’s campaign.

Honestly Jasmine would have been a more reasonable candidate than the little imp from the Presbyterian Seminary, who is much like a bad car wreck... frankly...

White Opie Tallywacko don’t need her unless she wants to juggle duckpins for entertainment.

The Dems and Socialists are consistently shifty and sneaky in interviews.

RE:

“I will be campaigning down ballot,” Crockett said.

Why not say “No.” ?

Same as twenty words each reply for the sneaky el-Sayed in Michigan each time Jesse Watters asked for a “yes” or “no.”
Like “That isn’t the question that concerns me.” “The people of Michigan care more for affordability and Medicare for All than about that.”

For a while even the statesman (/s) Hakeem Jeffries ducked answering if he agreed with Pike and el-Sayed about Jews and Israel remarks on video. “I am focusing more on the ways to get Trump fascists out of power this year in the House.”

Probably

Crockett is a political animal. Sure she’s crude and not terribly deep intellectually, but she did manage to get elect once and she did parlay that into a very high profile.

That Crokett is bailing on Talerico is very telling.

She’s discreet enough not to say that this was another win engineered by the party bosses, since she may need them in the future . But plainly she’s not very happy about it and has more spine than most of the party hacks who just back down and take it. One example being in 2020. Remember when the bosses used James Clyburn and SC to manufacture momentum for Joe? After than everyone else broke the land speed record dropping out of the race

Or she got told to stand down. She’s not done yet and wouldn’t want to piss off the party over a race she already lost.

She’s actually not —

But politics ain’t beanbag and I think Crockett is obviously positioning herself to be a stupid “online influencer” or podcaster or similar BS nonsense. It’s an equal opportunity plague.

Working out the legality aside? I think the wisest use of campaign funds — or PAC money, since I imagine direct campaign money might be dubious — would be to find a way to funnel her a big check to keep being a pain to Tala-freak-o.

Again, I’m not suggesting breaking any laws (even the ridiculously loose ones on campaign finance).... but if I’m someone like Elon? Forget the 8-9 figures he’s promising to spend. 100k? 250k? Finding a legal way to funnel a payday to her: payable after the election is the way to go.

She’s a joke leftist grifter. I’m sure she’d take the payday. Not saying much, but I think she’s also smarter than the average Squadrista. Absolutely, do it legally - and it just needs to stay under the covers for 2.5 months.

But if I had Elon money? That’s what I’d do.

Crockett ditches Talagayco.

Bigbob probably has a point, as well as Old Yeller.

She was elected once, gonna be hard to let that “power” go...

I really hate the stupid ‘betting markets’ crap (kalshi, polymarkets, whatever). As someone who leans libertarian - my bar for government *banning* something is really high, so I’m not saying I’d ban it. But no way I’d ever open an account myself and I’d strongly recommend everyone else NOT do so.

...but if I did? My understanding is that you can propose ‘proposition bets’.

I don’t know how to do it (and don’t care) and I don’t know what the betting line would be.

But you wanna make easy money? Candace Owens and Jasmine Crockett co-host a podcast in the next 2-3 years.
