President Donald Trump announced an historic energy deal with Venezuela in a Truth Social post Friday night.
The president called the deal “THE BIGGEST OIL DEAL IN WORLD HISTORY.” Trump wrote that the United States secured “majority U.S. control” of over 65 million barrels’ worth of Venezuelan oil reserves.
Trump credited Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Interim Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez and “a partnership with private business.”
The president stated that the deal more than doubles American reserves and will “substantially lower Gas Prices for all Americans.” He added that the deal would strengthen the “already growing relationship” between the two countries. Math is hard.
Yep. To those people, nothing America does or has done or will do can ever atone for slavery and segregation, so the only thing to do is destroy it and replace it with a North American version of Zimbabwe.
I just remember someone on here mentioning how low the Strategic Oil Reserves are and I was perplexed wondering why they weren’t being refilled as they mentioned the extra Venezulean oil and Iran oil is just being sold, meanwhile gas is still at $3.99 in Florida
gasoline and crude oil are two different markets ...
Price of oil goes up gasoline price goes up. Price of oil goes down gasoline price SHOULD go down but rarely does.
65 “million” is what we go through in about three days. Whoever wrote this either flunked math or has no idea of how much we use.
oil is only one input of many that affect the price of gasoline ...
Ok lay it on me then. What are the other factors? And yes I already know about taxes but they don’t suddenly change when prices of gas go up like they did since the start of the Iran nonsense.
Here's a quote about the price being slower going down for gasoline:
Prices also tend to fall more slowly than they rise, a dynamic known as asymmetric price movement. When costs increase, retailers adjust quickly to reflect higher replacement costs for the next delivery to their station. When costs decline, prices adjust more gradually as stations work through inventory purchased at earlier, higher prices, but competition among stations gradually pushes prices down over time.
Competition between gas stations "gradually" pushes prices downward. Sounds like there may be a unspoken rule to keep the prices from falling rapidly as they are all benefitting from charging higher prices while paying lower prices for gasoline, keeping the profit, while the customer is paying higher prices artificially. Nothing new as this has always been the way.
believe what you want ...
Keep believing in big oil that they are being completely transparent.
keep believing the quacks ...
C'mon 03A3, you know it is 65 BILLION, not million, stop trying to be the ignorant, stupid asshole that you continue to show you are.
My my aren’t you a douche
