Iran, Oman propose 'temporary navigational corridor' through Strait of Hormuz, demining operation Iran and Oman issued a joint statement announcing a proposal to open a "temporary navigational corridor" through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.
The statement, published by Oman's foreign ministry, said the two countries also agreed to a joint effort to clear the strait of mines.
"The proposed framework includes the establishment of a joint temporary navigational corridor through the Strait of Hormuz and an agreement to implement a joint project to clear the Strait of mines. Technical negotiations between the two sides would continue with a view to agreeing on a permanent navigational corridor and future administration of the Strait, as well as a mechanism for information-sharing, traffic management, and the provision of relevant navigational and security services," the statement read.
"In this context, both sides underscored the importance of convening joint discussions with regional states bordering the waters of the Gulf. They further stressed the need to uphold applicable international law and respect the sovereign rights of the coastal states," it added.

They think they can make it two years.......they won't make it 2 years economically.
Propaganda. This tells me they are in real trouble.
Theran Timmy talking? 🤔
Iran has powerful allies in the Democrat Party.
Riiight…….watch whats announced Friday pal.
Sounds like they are assuming Democrats here will rescue their regime in 2 years. Probably the only realistic assumption they have had in the last 40 years.
Well, I believe EVERYTHING Iran says.
If there is a civilized World it needs to join together to remove this regime, but apparently that’s not going to happen.
Everyone has a plan, until you get punched in the face.
Iranian days must seem like years.
Cannibalism ?
Question for the people imagining that Iran is sure to lose this conflict: Can you give a successful example of the US winning its objectives using sanctions as the sole or primary strategy? (Think Cuba for 60+ years, Russia vis-avis Ukraine, Syria under Assad, etc.)
Iran wants a return to a weak Presidency.
No navy. Only occasional tactical rockets and drones to threaten shipping. Hamas, IRGC and Hezbollah losing leaders like so many napkins. Hyperinflation.
What if, in two years, US politics does not give them any relief.
So hang on two years and get bailed out by the Democrats?
Sanctions are not our primary strategy. First we blew them to bits.
Well, I have a 2 year plan for Iran: drag all their mullahs calling for U.S. & Israel destruction out & have female Marines cut them to pieces with machine guns. Any Republican Guards don’t like that, let them join the mullahs in their deadly hail. I am sick & tired of their foul rants AND their idjet supporters.
Think:
Cuba for 60+ years (nearing collapse) probably regime change soon.
Russia (collapsed. Came back. Now with Ukraine war) The Russian economy is not well. The minister that said they couldn’t continue the war was fired last week because Putin doesn’t want to hear the truth. Russia was dependent upon Iran for weapons via China. Since the US vs Iran conflict, Russia has not gained ground and is very close to complete evacuation and loss of Crimea.
Syria under Assad. Collapsed. And Assad fled. New regime in place.
I guess it works, as long as you make it Very Very Painful and get the rest of the world onboard. Trump almost completely controls the oil market to some extent. I have a feeling that’s not an accident. Just like I no longer think the Iran conflict was just about Nuclear weapons.
I think it's about China.
DO THEY EVEN USE CALENDARS IN IRAN????
“Our objectives are clear.
First, we’re destroying Iran’s missile capabilities… and their capacity to produce brand new ones — pretty good ones they make.
Second, we’re annihilating their navy…
Third, we’re ensuring that the world’s number one sponsor of terror can never obtain a nuclear weapon…
And finally, we’re ensuring that the Iranian regime cannot continue to arm, fund, and direct terrorist armies outside of their borders.”
WINNING!
