Charles Baudelaire, a French poet, gets credit for the line about the Devil’s greatest trick being to convince you he doesn’t exist. (No, it wasn’t Kevin Spacey in the movie “The Usual Suspects.”) Usually people reach for it to describe evil operating in plain view, unbothered, because nobody bothers to look.

It came to mind reading the Democratic Socialists of America’s 2025-2026 platform. More precisely, it came to mind watching what happens to that platform once it reaches any election campaign.

Nothing about the document itself is hidden. It sits on the organization’s website. The national political committee adopted it formally. Fox News revealed it, so did the Washington Examiner and so did the Washington Monthly. Under a heading called “A Real Democracy,” it calls for getting rid of the Electoral College, the Senate, the presidency and the Supreme Court. In their place goes an executive and judiciary “chosen by and subordinate to Congress,” with Congress itself rebuilt into a single proportionally elected chamber.

You don’t need to be a conspiracy theorist to find that worth pressing on. Anyone running with this organization’s endorsement or with get-out-the-vote efforts supported and staffed by its members should be asked about its hidden agenda. Do they support abolishing the Senate, the presidency and the Supreme Court? Do they support getting rid of the U.S. Constitution, the way their endorsing organization’s platform requires?

What is interesting is that it is 'The (S)Hill' allowing this article. That suggests even the Uniparty is alarmed.

The media types like Morning Joe are defacto running interference.

The US had Gus Hall. But at one time, the US knew how to deal with communists.

You can't play pattycake with them. Although I enjoyed seeing Vindmann go down in flames, we can't let people like Nixon near the levers of power.

While some might think having the guardrails of civil society removed so that the scumbags can be taken care of, I would point out the sobering reality it would be bloody, and the country wouldn't be the same.

I saw a clip of Evangelist Morning Joe giving Christians a lecture on how to observe Christianity. Quoting Jesus, he said we are supposed to love our neighbors, and illegal immigrants are our neighbors, even as they promise to rape and murder our wives, daughters, and sisters, and kill all of us.

Can someone ask him how many illegal immigrants he has living in his house.

If he has none, he has joined up with the Pharisees, who were snakes, fools, and hypocrites, and we have that on very good authority.

While some might think having the guardrails of civil society removed so that the scumbags can be taken care of, I would point out the sobering reality it would be bloody, and the country wouldn't be the same.

Unfortunately, while true that is stated in a way that might dissuade us from developing an effective response to the Left's use of chaos, disruption, riots, destruction and "bloody" force.

The Left, however, no doubt hopes we will contain our responses by the guardrails of civil society, and they work to influence our federal laws every day in our courts and in our state and local governments to assure we remain "civil".

It appears our best course of action is to clearly redefine what is to be expected by our effective use of confronting and defeating civil unrest and rampant disregard for the rule of law. I.e., when and under what circumstances may we use "fire to fight fire"?

It is folly to believe that responding to bloody threats with bloody violence is inadvisable in that it may create a bloody battlefield. Arguably, history suggests the result will indeed be a stronger country.

Maybe even the older Dems didn't realize that's what was meant with their scary knee-jerd talking point that "our democracy" was in danger from MAGA. They only knew they were lying about something, not that the DSAs were looking to take over from them too. Useful idiots.
