The super-rich are building Swiss bunkers to stash their Ferraris, gold and fine wine

California’s super-rich have plenty of luxury bunkers to choose from — but this one takes doomsday prepping to a whole new level.

A massive network of underground vaults is being carved into the Swiss Alps, offering the ultra-wealthy a heavily fortified place to stash everything from priceless art and gold to vintage Ferraris and expensive wine.

The complex will house about 20 private vaults buried under more than 100 meters of solid rock — a natural fortress designed to keep criminals out.

Each underground cave is being sold on a 99-year lease, with prices starting at nearly 1 million Swiss francs — about $1.23 million.

“The advantage is that the client becomes the owner: they have their own parcel number in the land register and can even mortgage the property,” the developer said, according to swissinfo.ch.

The underground space once had a much less secretive purpose. It was home to Cantina Caverna, a restaurant and event venue, along with a shooting range and a firefighter training center designed to simulate tunnel fires.

Are they going to have a standing army as well to prevent all that from being taken?

LOL. This is such a New York Post story. Flashy, sensational, gossipy, Page Six click-bait. But this one is over the top even for the Post (which I love, by the way). We have a society-ending Armageddon. Nuclear war. Terrorist activity. Zombies. Whatever. Civil society collapses. The absolute last thing that will be useful or even functional will be a bunker filled with wine, art and Ferraris. The bunker will be valuable real estate. Stock it with guns and food. And some type of entertainment. Looking at art is going to get real old real fast.

It is rare to have real life call a very specific scriptural warning to mind.

LUKE 12:16-20

16 And he spoke a similitude to them, saying: The land of a certain rich man brought forth plenty of fruits. 17 And he thought within himself, saying: What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 18 And he said: This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and will build greater; and into them will I gather all things that are grown to me, and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul: Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years take thy rest; eat, drink, make good cheer. 20 But God said to him: Thou fool, this night do they require thy soul of thee: and whose shall those things be which thou hast provided [Luke 12:20]

Adding to your Bible reference,

Do not hurt the luxury items, exactly as prophesized, events following the Rider on the Black Horse. Who has just followed the White Horse, where that rider had a Crown (Corona) and a Bow (Toxon) and the rider on the Red Horse who brings War.

“And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” - Revelation 6:6

In the book of Revelation, the first three chapters are about the Church, then Chapters 4, 5, 6 are about the Heavenly Court going into session to adjudicate the ownership of the Earth from Satan attempting to steal it away by dividing Jerusalem, and then something really bad happens on the Earth (mushroom cloud perhaps?) causing those to believe the end has come and to run and hide themselves in their mountain dens:

“And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” - Revelation 6:14-17

When SUnken Civ posts those articles of finds of buried gold coins, I think of “who buried them, and why did he let the secret die with him?” Could it have been someone chased out by a marauding gand or army? Did he die suddenly and unexpectedly? Was he a miser who didn’t care what happened after he was gone? Now we get to see this in real time.

In the post-bankrupt U.S. novel “The Mandibles” by authoress Lionel Shriver, the protagonists come upon such a bunker in the Dakotas, inside were skeletons.

This bunker guy had a standing army. Didn’t help him much.

Archeologists will have a field day 1,000 years from now digging up all that stuff.

Reminds me of the finds all over Britain of valuables people buried over millennia, money, jewelry - things they never - or were never able to - come back for.

“Hoard of golden treasure stumbled upon by metal detectorist revealed to be most important Anglo-Saxon find in history”

It seems likely that such hoards was buried most of the time, and just got accessed when the owner needed some cash. Otherwise, it was hidden and not visible to passersby and visitors, and could easily have an eye kept on it. When the household had to flee, there simply wasn't time to dig it up, nor was there time to bury it without warning. Time to flee!

Anti-Christ has a ‘fatal’ head wound and yet still lives.

When I think of this verse, for some reason I always imagine Hitler in his bunker with pistol in hand and then next the image shifts to that evil spirit (1600 Nazis and their families) coming to America via “Operation Paperclip” and soon after morphing into the Deep State “Blob”. YMMV.

“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” - Revelation 13:3

Who the heck would want a Ferrari in SHTF scenario?

My neighbor has several and they are consistently broken, even with excellent maintenance.

Beautiful, fun, and a lot of work. Just like an Italian woman.

In the day of the Lords wrath, it wont help them:

“They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord. They shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels, because it is the stumbling block of their iniquity.” - Ezekiel 7:19

The older ones are likely better. I worked in a motorcycle shop back in the early 80s and one of the customers had a Ferrari. He said it was a solid car, but a tune-up cost $1500.

The race cars had to hold together to win LeMans back in the day, so they got something right back then. Probably just simple mechanics and analog everything.

Life was more brutal back then. Likely they were killed or died of an infection or disease and told no one of their stash.
