WASHINGTON — Former Sen. Kyrsten Sinema opened up about the sordid details of her dalliance with her then-married ex-bodyguard during a deposition in the $75,000 “homewrecker” suit brought by his angry ex-wife.
Sinema (I-Ariz.), the first openly bisexual person elected to Congress, fessed up to having repeated sex with Matthew Ammel in cities across America in an affair that upended his 14-year marriage.
She confessed that she first had sex with Ammel, her then-bodyguard, around Memorial Day of 2024, two years after he began working on her security team.
“We were staying at an Airbnb in Napa, California. We were outside. Matt kissed me. We went inside and had sex,” the former senator explained during her July 31 deposition, court records show.
That was the first time that the two kissed, Sinema said.
Ammel’s ex-wife, Heather Ammel, a mother of three, sued Sinema last year, taking advantage of her home state North Carolina’s “homewrecker law,” which permits women to sue their ex-spouse’s mistresses.
Sinema, 50, pushed the suit to federal court in January in a bid to argue that the dalliance took place outside of North Carolina.
Heather Ammel is now seeking over $75,000 in damages. She also faults Sinema for allegedly getting her ex-husband into psychedelics, apparently in a bid to help him deal with brain injuries and mental health disorders from his multiple deployments to the Middle East.

Let’s see. He’s average looking and that’s saying a lot. She’s average but does it matter when she’s available? So they’re alone together-what do you expect when there’s no need for a diaphragm and there’s adventure in the air. I’m convinced women do it more often with others. Too much time being miserable so you do what comes natural on the spur of the moment. They have a way of getting themselves in trouble and the men have to bail them out until they come to realize it ain’t worth it.

Creed Bratton is a musician who was in the 60s band The Grass Roots (who had several notable pop hits). Creed later became an actor, famously staring on the show “The Office” in which he played a character named ... Creed Bratton. His character was a very odd, often befuddled man who had clearly done a lot of drugs in the 60s. The quote is from the show, written by a scriptwriter and does not necessarily represent part of Creed Bratton’s life.
I’d rather have her as my Arizona senator than either Mark Kelly or Ruben Gallego. By far. For a Democrat senator, she was pretty good.
