Our founders created a system of checks and balances so the scumbags of the world would spend their efforts fighting each other.
They knew the scumbags would eventually find a way to centralize their corruption into the District of Criminals. This is why they added the Article V Convention Of States to tbe Constitution ... and yet , after 250 years it remains unused. Even an impending Civil War was not enough of a crisis to get this done!

Insipid, pathological compassion, is at the top of my list, this is what led to the “homeless” industry, the open use of drugs, and the welcoming of hoards of illegals. “Look at these poor souls, don’t you want to help them?” This is what created all the the thousands of profiteering NGOs and “non-profits” - the termites eating away at our foundations.
Affluenza is another one, where people don’t appreciate how well they have it, and who and what made it happen.

Well, start with Walter Cronkite all the way up to whatever left wing hairdo they have reading the news today and you have part of the answer. Add in the other networks, the far left university system and politicians who vote for more and more big government (because that gives them more opportunity to steal taxpayer money) and you suddenly have a mess on your hands.
