I am a Marvel Comic Universe SUPERHERO.
Here is my Marvel Comic Universe picture. BTW, the face actually looks a lot like mine, without glasses and if I let my facial hair grow:

So, why am I Captain Free-Stuff? Well, I will tell you! After purchasing my new home, I have, in addition to the 1620 sq ft upstairs, another 1620 sq ft of semi-finished basement. I plan to cut out about 7-800 sq ft and make it an elegant downstairs apartment. It has double-glass doors that allow entry from the deck (and has a very nice view, too!), and I'm putting a full bathroom in, as well as a nice kitchenette. There is a gas-powered fireplace they can enjoy.
And here's where things get interesting.
I have secured, FREE, over 10,000 dollars of building materials to do this with. Here's a partial list:

Godspeed.
812 bricks for free is a very nice get!
Here's a pic of that particular haul.... and at my advanced age, I moved it all -- TWICE -- into position in the back of my house.

I've discovered, nobody needs a gym membership. Just buy a house.
Nothing’s free, they’ll be there to tax you in no time.
Already covered that angle. There is an annual gift exclusion rule, which I am under, and also, givers -- not recipients -- are responsible for paying those taxes. But they need not, since I am under the annual limit.
Good on you. That will keep you busy
Really sweet then!
You have quite the unit in the picture, Super Dude.
You should write a book about your experience. It could be quite inspiring for those looking at home improvement!
I thought the “they” Bullish meant were the property tax assessor people! 😉 😥
Free Republic is FREE! To some.
The peanut butter was awful. Made decent cookies.
Why do you think all the ladies love me?
I remember government cheese. It was actually pretty good!
Interesting idea! ... and the title would be CAPTAIN FREE SH*T
Your Marvel Universe picture is SO CLOSE to DC’s top guy, that if it were used in a comic book (except as a “Not Brand Ecch” parody), it would invite a lawsuit. What do I know? I’m from the Fawcett universe.
Your place sounds Marvel-ous. We are no longer in Georgia, and our place there was a rental. But I am glad you are offering your stuff to freepers first. we have done quite a lot from Craig’s List free stuff here, and I am waiting to get some money from my new job so we can install the blue astroturf from a pickleball court in our dusty back yard, and pavers to cover up some of the desert dirt.
Do you plan to do the installation yourself?
Framing, electrical, plumbing, etc. ?
Framing, yes. Floor tiling and backsplash tiling, yes. Sheetrock and molding, yes. Drop ceiling, yes.
Plumbing I will hire out, as well as electrical.
