Reading FR then flicking to Twitter/X is sometimes like night and day. There's a lot of dissent there among those I happen to follow (NOT Lefitsts or anything like that) regarding: Israel, Iran War, foreign policy and the Administration generally.
A lot of hot topics that get discussed here all the time and former Representatives or officials are leading the charge: MTG, Kent, Tucker Carlson and Massie the most prominent with many large accounts echoing them.
It's clear to me this is more than just a few rebels who have no influence or standing in fact MTG says in one of her latest posts: "The Movement has begun".
She is referring to 'MAGA 2.0' and a split from the Trump admin who they accuse of breaking promises of no more foreign wars and for their handling of the Epstein saga.
This has implications I think for Vance or anyone else in the administration who might want to run for president in future.
This is just an observation. I'm no troll but feel hesitant to post (or re-post) some of their stuff because it might attract complaints.
Sometimes I feel like walking on egg shells especially with foreign policy posts which I think is the main fissure in play and where some of us naturally agree with them on.
Are Twitter/X ahead of the curve or out of order?
It is likely corrupted. They have been looking forvways tonstop the movement. One of thecways is through perfection that cannot be obtained.
The people here who criticize JD say foolish things like, “JD’s peace deal,” to criticize him. It was always Trump’s peace deals and I and others call *that* criticism out whenever it happens and if anyone’s reasoning skills are that poor they obviously don’t use their brain, anyway. And Trump did the peace deals for strategic purpose. He never thought Iran would honor them. Again - reasoning skills.
Yeah. And who are they. The Free Palestine crowd? Come on.
I like the analogy but some of us would say war drags on and has a habit of drawing you in. Have we not learned anything of the last 50-60 years of those conflicts? Mostly undeclared, drifting goals and painful
Vance’s role is basically that, yes and I think he’s in a difficult spot.
Those like MTG criticize him and say not doing more to stop this war will hurt his chances
As I said, the primaries will be open and spirited
MAGA 2.0 has to be led by someone who can credibly detach himself from the idiocy of Trump’s worst decisions in 2025-26 without getting involved with those four clowns.
“ I’m trying to be neutral and it’s an observation.”

Sure you are! We believe you. /SARCASM
Fair enough
But it’s difficult for more dissenting voices to appear. You might see them after the mid-terms. You’ll have a front row seat to that
As far as I could tell MAGA 1.0 is a true coalition which has a range of views outside tbe core. Most were neither ‘jew lovers’ nor ‘jew haters’ but saw Israel as an important strategic and military partner in the region. Tbat has not changed. In the big tent came a lot of Christian Zionists and tbat made a lot of tbose in the tent who aren’t fans of Israel uncomfortable. We’re hearing from the latter now. Tbey were never a large fraction and they will vote Republican rather than DSA, so I don’t think much has changed. Just that Trump has reversed the attack on freedom in tbe US so people feel free to criticize things tbey don’t like again.
Wrong. See post 30.

For me its the disconnect between perceived goals and objectives and actual outcomes. That leads to folks acting out the seven stages of grief.
Israel: they call non Jews a Goy, f em
Iran War: the mooselimbs sect running Persia has been fighting both Israel and USA for at least 48 years. Well past time for the 12 ers to knock it off.
BTW, the mooselimbs call non mooselimbs Kafir’s, f em too.
Foreign policy: President Trump is on the right path but 0bama and his cabal of commies are blocking.
Administration: Federal Judges, can’t live with them and can’t live without em.
As Jon Lovitz noted and the funeral for Phil Hartman; well, it could have been worse.
Twitter is a cesspool. Just another stop in the Anti-Social Media Zone.
Speaking of...look at them go!
MAGA 2.0? Thank you too much. whoever you are!
I read it and it’s not about religion.
Just the foreign policy stuff and some Epstein saga thrown in
Trump promised no more foreign wars and they regularly re-tweet these posts
They feel let down and some are ‘free’ to speak within the party. It’s difficult but it’s also convenient to dismiss all four of them. More will no doubt follow maybe you can pre-emptively call them tools as well...
I never said it was *about* religion, I pointed out *a* religious component after someone else commented on it. And my comment in #30 was a direct connect to what you said, whether you want to pretend this argument isnt related to the others. That’s just one example.
They have no choice now once they made the Go decision, have to keep going. Sad.
I’m sure they’d be happy to take an L but it’s not being offered.
I’m split. I have no ill will towards Trump, but I feel like he’s lost the plot.
The middle east has turned into yet another quagmire. There’s something about hubris with every consequential Republican president of the last 40 years thinking they can ride in, rope the calf that is Islam, and declare victory. We continue to repeat the mistakes of the past all in the name of supporting “our greatest ally” Israel.
I would like to see unabashed isolationist traditional conservative values return to DC, but I just don’t see it happening.
Isolationist insomuch as we don’t meddle in foreign affairs that don’t impact us. Focus on our hemisphere and work to strengthen bonds with our global neighbors.
Traditional conservative insomuch as NOT neo-conservative. I want our politicians to follow the letter and the spirit of our founding documents.
Both of these together would see us into a boom unlike we’ve seen since Calvin Coolidge. Instead we have a split economy where corporations are thriving on the market while the American people are struggling to make ends meet.
Trump campaigned on improving America first. This second term he’s focused heavily on affairs overseas, and the optics are bad. I’m blessed to be gainfully employed, and I give a lot to my parish and community; but I’ve been to the food banks and the local shelters. Americans are hurting. And for what?
Well stated. Many folks, especially the younger crowd wasn’t around for those 444 days that changed our outlook on the world, the carnage of our Marines in Lebanon and countless other attacks by the muzzie cults around the globe.
Much of our population cannot understand the notion that you can’t negotiate with terrorists, especially one that has a death cult built in to control the population as this is the long-term problem with no answer. The feckless GOPe/Dems since those Carter days has done nothing since and do not realize that there are two possible outcomes, kill or eventually be killed.
This is the problem no matter what political views one has.
