Once of the worst trends on this forum lately is a large and noisy faction that combines an anti-Vance hatefest with an equally mindless pro-Rubio lovefest, even though Rubio is just Lindsey Graham or John McCain in a slicker (though much less intelligent) package.

Much of the hatred towards Vance has been stirred up by the likes of Mark Levin, who foam at the mouth at any deviation in US policy from what Netanyahu demands (i.e. Vance dared to question whether Netanyahu's aims in the region really align with ours), and to a lesser extent the smarmy, self-righteous Ukraine obsessives, who just can't forgive Vance for saying that he (quite reasonably) doesn't really give a damn about Ukraine.

I'd point out here that Mark Levin stopped posting on FR in May of 2016 after he had been engaged in a string of loony anti-Trump diatribes against other Freepers in the midst of Trump's first GOP primary campaign.

I honestly don’t understand this Vance-Rubio antagonism except in the prism of a past campaign mindset.

Conservatives should consider themselves fortunate to have men like them on our side and in consideration of a Presidential campaign.

I personally admire both of them, and Rubio was the most surprising for me, as I did not care for him in the past.

But he has fully subjugated himself to the team agenda, and has done it so thoroughly as to win my full respect, and the respect of many other conservatives.

You may notice a little overlap between those two groups. On the Ukraine crowd--notice how largely absent they are on threads about the anti-democratic doings in Hungary and the EU when before they were crowing about Orban's ouster.

Re your opinion that Rubio is less intelligent than McCain—would you please provide more evidence why you believe that?
