Mark Ruffalo took a shot at Tesla.
"I mean… they are not well made cars," he wrote on X on Wednesday while sharing an Autoblog article about a preliminary NHTSA investigation into Tesla.
Instead, the actor, best-known for playing Bruce Banner in "The Avengers," said he prefers an EV from a Korean automaker that built its name on budget-friendly vehicles.
"Having tucked into a KIA EV now and having driven a Tesla," Ruffalo said. "I have to say the Kia is hands down a better car and feels luxury compared to a Tesla."
Ruffalo has a long history with electric vehicles and Tesla. In 2012, he said he had placed a deposit on a Model S and described himself as number 6,345 on the car's waiting list. He also tweeted in support of the automaker in 2014 when New York State considered banning Tesla because it sold directly to consumers.
The actor's views of Tesla CEO Elon Musk have since soured.
Tensions between Musk and Ruffalo surfaced in 2022, when the actor said Musk was destroying his credibility after taking over Twitter.
Ruffalo also campaigned for Kamala Harris in 2024, while Musk spent at least $270 million supporting Donald Trump and other Republicans during that election cycle.

His Kia will be a broke down piece of junk within 10 yrs, if it’s even still on the road. Can’t say much good about the Tesla either because it’ll need a new battery.
It does seem to be a vein that runs through almost all of them.

generally speaking there are ways around most of that if you are patient and motivated enough to learn a few tricks. Having said that, if you have to replace the entire LED headlamp assembly or a motorized steerable assembly, then yeah, you’re looking at easily 600-1200 bucks for parts plus all the labor described (pull the bumper cover and the fender, replace assembly, then reverse order reinstalling).
Xenon lamps are about 70 bucks a piece or so.
My Last car had adjustable headlamps which needed to be adjusted by a tech. Fortunately, I never needed one replaced and was able to replace the running lights myself.
Or you can buy the proper tool and DIY. I helped my neighbor replace both headlamps in his Cadillac, they were motorized. Generally speaking they automatically recalibrate or home every time you start your vehicle. The only time they need to be adjusted is when something is wrong (rare, but possible), or the entire assembly is moved/removed or replaced.
The great question is, “Why is Ruffalo’s opinion on anything relevant, and who cares what he says anyway?”

There are tons of youtube videos freely available to help you out, and tons of vehicle repair forums with info and dealership techs or factory trained techs posting info also.

One can definitely save some money it you know where to look or are aware of repair costs. My last car had high performance brakes. The dealer wanted $5K+ to replace the brakes. I said no way and went to a big box store and got them replaced for $500+. What I should have done had I known better is replace the brakes with after market high performance brakes for around $2K+ at the time.
