A high-ranking Westchester County police official drove the getaway car for her son in an apparent gangland shooting in The Bronx, police and sources said Tuesday.
Jennifer Lackard, a deputy police commissioner with the Mount Vernon Police Department, was arrested at her home Tuesday morning, along with her son, Chase Lackard, 20, after the young man allegedly shot at a group of rivals near the Bronx Criminal Court on June 29 at 11:57 p.m, police said.
Nobody was injured in the shooting, police said.
The pair were hit with attempted murder, attempted assault, criminal possession of a firearm, conspiracy and reckless endangerment charges.
He then rushed into her car before she drove off, according to sources. The mom raked in $138,219 with the police department last year, according to SeeThroughNY.
The duo are no strangers to headlines.
In 2024, Chase, a reputed member of the “Slutty Gang,” was shot by police after he allegedly wielded a gun during a dispute in Clason Point.

What a mom!🙄 Just as a side note, I wouldn’t think $138,000 a year doesn’t pay the bills in New York. Only part of the story that surprises me.
She needed to slow down more and tell the son to properly hold and am his firearm.
I would not call someone who gets paid $138K in the NYC suburbs a "bigwig." Maybe that's why she had to be part of the Slutty Gang.

It depends on the state’s laws, and the willingness to apply those laws.
I am aware of a teacher who was convicted of fraud after she retired. The crime had nothing to do with her teaching career. But there was a morals clause in her pension agreement.
She lost her pension.
DEI was the 1st thing that came to my mind.
