Two separate — and growing -- psychoses are converging in a perfect highly imperfect storm of authoritarianism to existentially threaten the land of the formerly free and brave.
To wit:
In 2000, only 28% of Democrats identified as “liberal.” Today, that figure has nearly doubled. The number who claim to be very liberal has also risen dramatically. In fact, a recent survey shows that 1 in 3 Democrats now proudly consider themselves to be Democratic-Socialists. The party has been fundamentally transformed — and quickly. DSA candidates are now running in elections across the fruited plain … and winning. This would have been unthinkable just a couple of decades ago.
Simultaneously, the number of Muslims in the U.S. has also dramatically increased, from perhaps as low as 1.1 million in 2000, to perhaps as many as 4.5 million today. That would be greater than a 400% increase. In one generation.
The mayor of the largest city in the United States, the historic heart of capitalism, is today a Muslim. Just one generation or so after 19 practitioners of Islam, the universally acknowledged “religion of peace,” conspired to knock down the World Trade Center and slaughter nearly 3,000 innocent men, women, and children.
Ronald Reagan famously said that “freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” Many of us can clearly see that now.
In that same speech, Reagan stated:

I blame leftist indoctrination in schools and parents that do not pay attention to what their children are being taught.
Nobody told me that free stuff will cost me my life. Better pray with the religion of pieces.
Extreme leftist political leaders and educators paving the way for equal poverty except for the ones that are more equal. George Orwell had it right. All I can hope for is that this threat to our way of life is headed for a burnout when some leftist cities fail miserably and run out of other people’s money.
When I was in school in the 60’s, Animal Farm was one of a few books that were mandatory reading. Kids today don’t have a clue about the failures of socialism which eventually becomes communism. They don’t have a clue to much at all including their gender. The lunatics are running the asylum.
When Communism fell in the 1980s, all of the people of good will who were favorable to the Marxist perspective had their “ I have seen the future, and it works” world view shattered and most renounced Marxism as the failed, corrupt and evil ideology that it is
All except for the evil and subversive people of the Professional Left in the US who used Marxism to further their goals of destroying America . They never renounced their goals to destroy American society and culture in order to seize power. Most were Maoist in philosophy and ascribed to Mao's Long March approach to seize power and they had an ascendant China backing them.
They regrouped in Academia and began a 40 year campaign to take control of of the US education system which has been remarkably successful
They now own both the K-12 public school system and most of our universities and are producing uneducated but highly politically indoctrinated graduates steeped in Communism and cultural Marxism
The leftscum didn’t take Orwell esp. 1984 as a warning. They took it as a playbook.

That is the issue. The left plays the long game, and they are kicking the crap out of us. The government schools feed into all parts of society. Add in the universities and there you have it, communists everywhere.
If I allow myself to consider this, I become profoundly sad. Therefore, I try to ignore it, and enjoy my life, but it’s coming.
Not “universally acknowledged”. I recognize it as an intolerant, narcissistic, rapacious, bloodthirsty cult with zero legitimacy as a religion. It should be outlawed, and all of its adherents shipped out of this country, back to the crapholes that exist wherever they dominate.

Pretty much the way it’s going down. Whatever “moderate” dems are left are probably set for life and could care less. Until it affects them as well.
Americans going to church once a week have no concept for the psychological consequences of prayers five times a day, prayers of conquest.
I remember that communist pig. “We will bury you!”, as he smacked his shoe on the table. Well, we’re not there yet, but I don’t like the way we’re headed. I fear Khrushchev may have been right, I hope to God I’m wrong.
Forty years my sorry a$$. Socialism was a part of public education from its inception, as was psychological manipulation. The Marxist element was injected in 1933.
It’s not a religion, it’s a cancer.

If/when that is achieved they will be at each others throats until one or the other comes out on top.
I try to remain optimistic, but it is difficult. The progressives in the late 19th and early 20th century put into place systems and attitudes that poisoned the well. We may have won WWII in a military sense, but I think we lost big on two fronts. At the end of 1945, the US government flush with victory, was looked upon, and came to see itself as a nearly omnipotent solver of all of humanity's ills, and attotude it largely holds to this day. Second, while th horrors of war may have promptedany to deepen their faith, it prompted many more to embrace attitudes of secularism and nihilism (even more so than after WWI).
