New details were released Friday, including the identities of both suspects and the victim connected to a violent kidnapping that ended with the deaths of the victim and one of the suspects in Chino Hills late Wednesday night.
Investigators said 60-year-old Shukur Aikebaer stepped outside his home in the 2100 block of Monteverde Drive around 10:15 p.m. to inspect the home’s electrical panel after service to the residence was interrupted.
That’s when the two suspects, identified as 67-year-old Zhengfeng Bo and 66-year-old Jianquan Bo, allegedly shot and kidnapped Aikebaer, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities said the gunman and an accomplice attempted to flee in a Nissan Altima before stopping near a home on Wandering Ridge Drive, where more gunfire erupted.
“Deputies ordered two occupants out of the vehicle. The passenger did comply. However, the driver exited the vehicle, approached the trunk of the suspect vehicle and fired a shot into a victim that was inside the trunk,” Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Gloria Orejel said.
Deputies immediately returned fire, killing Zhengfeng Bo at the scene. Despite lifesaving efforts, Aikebaer was pronounced dead.
The motive remains under investigation. However, the Sheriff’s Department said Zhengfeng Bo knew Aikebaer through a prior working relationship.

36 years ago I had a several weeks stint in our company’s LA engineering office. I traveled from Atlanta. Spanish was widespread and Mexicans were everywhere.
I didn’t hear office talk of gangs and drugs and the local news was more or less normal, adjusting for the warm winter weather. It was weird having a shirt sleeve Christmas, New Years and Super Bowl.
Nah. Southeast Asians were unloaded in to that part of the country many moons ago. I would guess Vietnamese refugees.

36 years ago... 1990.... you got to see the tail end of SoCal before it went to hell. You got to see it when it was still good.
The 1986 Amnesty hadn’t yet done its full damage, that would come in 1996 when they all could vote.
The aerospace and defense industries were still here. Those were staffed almost entirely by Americans. Manufacturing hadn’t been hollowed out and shipped out of the country.
Real estate prices were still normal and Americans could afford homes here. We hadn’t yet been hit by the tsunami of immigration that would drive up prices and make housing scarce and transform once pleasant single family suburbs into overcrowded overbuilt overpriced nightmares.
Both parties bear the responsibility for what happened. The fool Bush jr as Texas governor fought us on Prop 187, along with Mexico and the Democrat left. And when he was President he tried to ram through another amnesty.
No one until Trump showed the slightest inclination to defend what’s left of the American culture and people here. They all embraced the multi culti ‘America is just an economic zone’ view of the world. Press 1 for English.
