G’day, Pookie!
May you and yours have a great and safe weekend.
??
Dunno. Haven’t seen the movie.
I just meant that you seized the day.
I try to say “thank you” every once in a while. Doing it every day will make your hat not fit, as grannie used to say. Swells your head. ;)
I really do look forward to waking up to Pookie’s Toons!
Have a great weekend.
G’day & the same to you, Ricebug!
I knew what you meant. Thanks & the same to you. & now for your enjoyment:

Whoa. Thanks for that link. I need to watch the movie now.
Robin Williams was such a treasure, lost too soon.
“Be extraordinary”
Robin was a huge USO supporter. Sadly, I wasn’t around Camp Arifjan during this performance. I was elsewhere in theater.

Robin learned about Retreat, when the flag gets lowered. Salute.
Performers that donate their time and risk their lives to entertain troops in combat theaters deserve some respect.
Going back to Bob Hope.
I’ll salute the people I’ve met on USO tours.
Geoffrey Bodine (he called my son on his birthday)
Arnold Schwarzenegger (hilarious stand up, with accent)
Wayne Newton (an especially wonderful guy)
Kid Rock (really nice guy)
Drew Carey came over a couple times. Former Marine, same shtick but at least he was there. The Cowboy Cheerleaders look better on TV than they do in person. Kinda like turning the lights on in a strip club.
Dead poets —> Robin Williams —> USO —> Wayne Newton —> Kid Rock.
See how I got there?
I see how you got there & thanks for the clip & your service.
Did you see Robin as Adrian Cronauer in Good Morning, Vietnam?
I think I've seen most all his movies except Dead Poets Society and Patch Adams. I've seen Good Morning Vietnam at least 20 times.
The Vietnam vets I've spoken with recall Cronauer on AFR. But Robin's performance in the movie made him larger than life.
I'm not a vet from Vietnam, but I know others here are. Maybe they can chime in?
Thanks for the Martha & The Vandellas mini clip ;-)
Exceptional artists from an exceptional time.
