Soren Aldaco, an emerging leader in the “detransitioner” movement, began identifying as transgender at age 11. Growing up in Texas, she’d gone down “a rabbit hole of websites and niche online forums” trying to figure out who she was. As a teen, deeply distressed and diagnosed with a variety of mental illnesses, she became fixated on the idea that hormone treatment and surgeries might provide some relief.

At age 17 her stepmother took her to a nurse practitioner the family had met at a support group. He prescribed testosterone and estrogen blockers 30 minutes later. At age 19, she underwent “top surgery,” a double mastectomy. By then, she was on 10 different medications. She suffered severe complications and bruising, and six months later realized she hadn’t been born in the wrong body after all.

In 2023, she sued several of her medical providers for malpractice, arguing that the “gender-affirming” treatments were horribly destructive. Most of her initial claims were dismissed in part because of statutes of limitations in Texas. But the state’s Supreme Court recently ruled that, no, she had filed in time. Hers is one of two dozen or so pending cases filed by detransitioners across the country. Now, at age 23, she’s realized how coercive gender-identity ideology was, “disguising harm as compassion.”

I have read articles discussing an explosive social contagion from cell phone usage. In Great Britian public health saw a 17-fold rise in gender dysphoria from 2011-2012 to the present. After a 1,500 percent increase in the number of female teenagers identifying as transgender in a 10-year-period, the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare assessed that the risks of puberty blockers and so-called gender-affirming treatment were likely to outweigh the expected benefits. Denmark has seen an 8,700 percent increase in the number of documented pediatric cases requesting transgender surgery. A similar phenomenon has been noted in the US for a decade-to-decade increases.

Democrat politics becomes the driving force in this country. President Clinton officially declared in 1999 that June would be "Gay and Lesbian Pride Month". Barack Obama expanded the official Pride Month recognition in 2011 to include the whole of the LGBTQ+ whatever community. I hope she wins all the lawsuits.

Not that I feel she was wronged in any way or that she deserves the money. She made bad choices and brought this all on herself.

No, I want physicians and hospitals and insurance companies to know that even if a minor begs you and the psychologist recommends it and the parents (in this case, STEP-parent) approve of it, you are still legally liable if you perform gender-modification surgery on a minor child.

I did a 16,000+ word essay for my two sons titled “Democrats and Predatory and Evil”. I had heard the expression somewhere and thought that was a bit extreme. However, using abortion and transgenderism as sources the conclusion seemed inescapable.
