New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill announced Tuesday that she will defy a Justice Department request for information about the identities of the 6,600 non-citizens who were erroneously registered to vote in the Garden State.
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, who leads the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, had demanded the names, dates of birth, addresses, nationalities and registration dates of the non-citizens on New Jersey’s voter-rolls – 400 of whom are believed to have cast ballots – on July 21 and gave the Democratic governor a five-day deadline to comply with the request.
“Today, I informed [Dhillon] that New Jersey will not provide the personal information of thousands of New Jersey residents,” Sherrill wrote on X. “The request had no legal basis, and I will always protect New Jerseyans’ personally identifiable information.”
Sherrill included a letter sent to the DOJ official where she explains the non-citizens were registered to vote “through no fault of their own” and that the state and local election officials were “working tirelessly … to rectify this error.”
Dhillon countered by arguing that Sherrill’s “refusal to cooperate with federal law enforcement does nothing to protect law-abiding NJ voters.”
“NJ has a legal duty to keep ineligible voters off its rolls, & our request is grounded in that legal authority,” the DOJ official wrote on X. “DOJ will get this information through all legal means!”
In her initial request for information, Dhillon said the DOJ would be investigating the matter as an “unlawful dilution of American votes.”

Democrat Gov Sherrill signed a statement with 23 other Democratic governors calling Trump’s comments about non-citizens being registered to vote “deeply alarming” and an attempt by the president to “undermine free and fair elections”
Sherrill went on a campaign binge claiming Democrats are the ones “actually making life better for American families by lowering costs, creating jobs and protecting our freedoms.”
Yet, Sherrill “knew” thousands of NJ non-citizens were registered to vote and called the president a liar and said he was “exaggerating. “
Say what?
She’s as much a communist as those other communists winning from coast to coast. She can’t give up the con.
There needs to be a legal concept of dilution of a person’s vote. A person should have one vote, and (for example) not 9/10 of a vote, where 9/10 is the ratio of legal voters to actual voters. Otherwise a vote can be diluted by the state
or other entity until there is in effect no vote representation. This should be incorporated into the civil right to vote.
Mikie Sherrill is unethical and morally weak. She can bluster but cannot change the law.

NJ (like many states) has had unfair elections for many decades. Good that even a small portion is coming to light.

How many VA illegals purposely checked the box that they were citizens when they went for their DLs? The ones caught had indicated they were not citizens and the system registered them anyway.

I've already had my misgivings of Harmeet Dillon when she was Ronna McRomeny's assistant while she was head f the RNC and allowed all this voter fraud to happen and did nothing to prevent it. Also said and did nothing about Ronna personally using her position for lavish trips, dinners and spa days. Let's hope working for Trump in a higher position will have given her some stones to do what is right for Amerca.
The 2 female commie governors would still insist that the illegals that checked the boxes that they were citizens was still “no fault of their own” since they don’t understand English as an excuse.
Is possible the illegals had State paid aides check the box for the poor illiterate?
