The Left Is Using Kids As A Trojan Horse For Total Online Surveillance

It is the oldest trick in the authoritarian playbook. Anytime a Democrat politician looks into a television camera and declares a new policy is “for the kids,” history tells us it is time to do three things: grab your Bill of Rights, lock your wallet, and check your firearms.

The political left has mastered the art of semantic camouflage. Because leftists’ true intentions—total state control and the systematic dismantling of individual liberty—are entirely unpalatable to the average citizen, they must cloak their radical agendas in the warm blanket of public safety.

We are seeing this exact misdirection play out today across two seemingly different battlefronts: the push for Universal Background Checks (UBCs) on firearms, and the sudden, “bipartisan” stampede to pass online child safety legislation. Under the microscope, however, they share the exact same DNA. They were never about protecting children. They are about building lists to target political opponents. Period.

Currently making waves in Congress are the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) in the Senate and the Kids Internet and Digital Safety Act (KIDS) in the House. On paper, the marketing pitch is flawless. Proponents claim these bills will shield innocent children from online predators, groomers, and illicit adult content.

At face value, it sounds reasonable. Who could possibly oppose protecting children?

The answer lies in the structural mechanics of the legislation. Just as gun control advocates use “safety” to pierce the veil of constitutional privacy, digital regulators are using children as human shields to bypass the First Amendment.

I remember Rush used to mock this mentality by referring to hypothetical proposals from the organization Keep Our Own Kids Safe. (It took me a minute to figure out the acronym back in the day LOL)

I say this a lot, so excuse me if you’ve already heard it:

The reason they use kids (very important, please pay attention!) is primarily due to a single factor: Kids usually don’t care or know about political issues, and are mostly silent about them; they don’t hire lawyers; they can’t give informed consent. (If that sounds like more than one reason, I would answer: The factor has a number of facets, each of which is related to the truth that kids can’t speak up for themselves as a collective and they don’t vote.)

For “kids” one can substitute a number of entities and the statement would still be true: Fetuses, mentally ill or developmentally disabled adults, animals. Addicts (that Democrats are famous for buying votes on election day by giving booze to alcoholics isn’t so well-known anymore because liquor stores and bars are now open on election day! Because you already voted by mail! Hooray! - is of course recounted in song and story).

Anyone who can’t speak up for himself is grist for the Democrats’ cheating mill.

Once the Democrats take over, we won’t be hearing about the kids anymore - I would bet $100 on that if I had $100.

In fact, if the Democrats take over, even seeing a kid at a distance will become a rarity.

Of all the things Leftists do to inflict their evil and tyranny on free men, it is the “We must do it for the children” one grates on me more than most.

It was Clinton’s “Year of The Child” that the feds burned all those kids at David Koresh ‘s complex near Waco,Texas.

Now, with the leftaling nice nice with Johnny Jihads, I expect a lot more child shields.

The national teachers unions came to town in 2024 in Hillsborough County FL and wangled their way onto the November general election ballot with a referendum which raised the public skrewel teacher salaries by twelve thousand dollars over three years onto the backs of the property tax-paying homeowners. They blitzed the county with ad campaigns pushing the initiative as “For The Children”. That was even its title on the ballot. Of course it passed with every non property-tax paying voter falling for it. How easy it is for some people to spend other people’s fixed incomes for them. BTW DeSantis rolled over for the unions in that county election just so you know I’m saying this because a lot of folks on FR keep mentioning his name for 2028. Think again. Money talks in a corrupt state. The only pol I know who doesn’t take any s%$t from the thug labor unions is Markwayne Mullin.
