After 13 days of bombing Iran, on Friday we took a break. If we were dealing with rational opponents, the war in Iran would be over now, but we are dealing with fanatics and a situation where the monsters are fighting each other, and no one seems sufficiently in charge to enter into a meaningful surrender.
In the meantime, we can turn to domestic matters, and to my mind, the situation at the Smithsonian Museum warrants our attention. It seems that we are paying super-woke people to denigrate our history and culture, and because of the way in which the governance of this important institution is set up, there’s little power for the White House to quickly change it.
This month, the White House issued a 165-page report on the Smithsonian which sets out in detail its failure to fulfill its mission of providing historical education and scholarship.
The National Museum of American History, whose director is Anthea Hartig, draws considerable attention for turning the museum into a tool of “extreme political activism.” She has
explicitly stated that she sees history as a “prime tool of social justice” and one of her roles as connecting “research and scholarship to activism and advocacy.” Hartig has also stated that “we work to reframe the traditional celebratory narrative of U.S. history for visitors.” She claims to have had a personal head start “propped up as I was and I am by the cushions of whiteness and the pillows of the bourgeoisie.”
Hartig believes the museum profession has “to figure out” how “we’re going to” “problematize” the “250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026,” that “loving America is very complicated,” and that objects in the Museum’s collection should be used to move attention away from an “Anglo-centric” focus on the

Send her to North Korea to think about things...
That bottom up thing is getting old.
The person described needs a reeducation camp. Badly.
Or Iran.
Big time.
I hope that Tom Homan can somehow deport this traitorous loser. The Smithsonian has embarrassed itself for decades with their woke and anti-American BS. Enough already pandering to such political-driven a**holes. This pathetic leftist trash can say what she wants...but shouldn’t be being paid by the taxpayer. If nothing else, put her (and her fellow-traveler loser staff) in stocks on the WDC Mall and let the public throw rotten food and other garbage at her for a few months.
Washington, Madison, Jefferson, Henry, Mason, Monroe, John Marshall were ALL Southerners. They were also all slave owners. They bought their slaves from Yankees - New England was the epicenter of the slave trade industry for the entire western hemisphere.
Guess what. Slavery was the norm world wide at that time. Yes, WORLD wide. As in everybody did it. So you might as well just skip the moral preening and deal with it. It was a different world then.
It’s house cleaning time. They may have civil service protection to some extent, but everyone of these marxists should be terminated.
” She claims to have had a personal head start “propped up as I was and I am by the cushions of whiteness and the pillows of the bourgeoisie.”
Who the heck hired her? Who thought she was the one? That person(s) need to be fired too.

Still I hope and pray that one day, the entire neo-communist edifice of lies and half-truths will come down with a crash.
And FLT-bird was right: slavery had existed for millennia before eventually reaching the USA. In parts of Africa, it still endures today.
Lizzo is the Sports Illustrated cover whale. Please help me understand.
Used to work for an office that did in person investigations of new hires. Whenever one of them ran off the rails with criminal issues or severe anti social behavior matters, first words out of the directors mouth were: who did the background investigation!! Woah to the investigator who appeared to have “mailed it in”. Consequently there were few f ups.
My buddy who commended me for the job told me later the boss told him if this guy turns out to be some OC plant, your new duty station will be on Guam.
Yeah, no kidding.
Rep. Brandon Gill let her have it last week:
GILL: Is it important to be polite?
HARTIG: Yes
GILL: Your organization says politeness is a defining characteristic of white supremacy culture. Ma’am, are you a white supremacist?
HARTIG: No, sir.
GILL: Why does your organization say being polite is part of being a white supremacist?
And here, as to whether or not Micky Mouse is racist (according to the Smithsonian, he is):
GILL: Is Mickey Mouse racist?
HARTIG: Mickey Mouse is not racist.
GILL: According to the Smithsonian Institute, one of your exhibits referenced Mickey Mouse as “one of the last vestiges of black-faced minstrelsy.” Would you describe that as racist?
“problematize” the “250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026,”
que violins "stolen land".
Oh...you mean the planet? Yes, that's right! Its ALL "stolen". The more powerful stole it from the less powerful. They slaughtered them, ethnically cleansed them, raped and enslaved the survivors and/or assimilated some of them. If you can defend a piece of land, then its yours. If you can't you'll have to leave or get crushed.
EVERYBODY did that. Australian Aborigines, American Indians, Black Africans, Asians, Europeans, Middle Easterners, Indians, everybody. Read some history some time. Its not pretty. History is not a morality play.
Better learn to deal with it, Cupcake.
“New England was the epicenter of the slave trade industry for the entire western hemisphere.”
Not even close. The USA doesn’t even make the top five of nations involved in the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
Portugal 5,100,000,
Britain 2,730,000
France 1,160,000
Spain 880,000
Netherlands 480,000
USA 400,000
Will agree that New England participated in the slave trade with money and ships, but it was not the epicenter of the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
