Now another person with close ties to Swalwell appears to be using his campaign account like a personal slush fund. That's Adam Gray, who was co-chair of Swalwell's failed gubernatorial campaign.
Gray, who was once a member of the California Assembly, had a reputation in the state legislature for taking charter flights and staying at luxury resorts. When he was elected to Congress, he reportedly kept living large, running up campaign expenses for limousine services, Uber rides, and more than $16,000 on Major League Baseball (MLB) tickets.
FEC documents show that Gray's campaign spent more than $5,000 on limousine services through a luxury chauffeur service based on Fresno. That company advertises "premier black car and chauffeur services."
After entering Congress, Gray has amassed almost $37,000 in Uber expenses, making him possibly the most Ubered congressman in America. Campaign filings show a long list of charges, many of them generating triple-digit bills and one that was more than $650.
Between May 2025 and May of this year, Gray's campaign also spent $16,464.40 on baseball tickets at multiple MLB stadiums.
None of this is new, of course. Back in 2014, Gray was already facing scrutiny over his expensive travel and other taxpayer-funded perks like the aforementioned chartered flights and luxury resort stays. According to CalWatchdog, during his time in the California Legislature, Gray's campaign spent $21,740 in gifts at Rossini's Menswear, $14,563 at Vista Ranch & Cellars, and $2,383 at Stevensons Ranch Golf Club. Those expenses were classified as related to fundraising events. Gray's campaign rang up $7,604 at the Ritz-Carlton, $3,334 at Sheraton Hotels, $1,125 at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort and Spa, and $347 at the oceanfront Terranea Resort. He also took junkets to Maui and Cuba.

Here in North Florida, a number of years ago, Corinne Brown was a long time US congresswoman who lived in Jacksonville, her district was a gerrymandered district which guaranteed an African American would get elected.
After reading this article, she was doing the exact same things, got arrested, charged and convicted of Federal Charges, she actually went to prison, she got out early due to covid, but she did serve a number of years in prison.
She was 100% guilty of the charges, every time I see a story like this, I can’t help but wonder why Corinne Brown got prison time and most other politicians doing the same things run free.
Gallego is a friggin Chicongo crook. I don’t know what the hell has gotten into Arizona voters. They seemed normal when I lived there.

Suppose you lived in Ohio and sent your child to a University of Illinois school and paid out of state tuition. The entire time your child was there illegal aliens paid instate tuition. Have there been any lawsuits where those who paid the out of state tuition sue the State of Illinois to return the difference in tuition that they paid?

Mostly problems with AZ Republicans. We seem to be divided, Kari Lake suffered hugely from negative adds generated by Republican donor billionaire Robson in run for governor.
Then she declined to take a break and ran for the senate, and her run split the party mightily.
Gallego actually run as moderate (he never was).
It turned out to be pretty close, and probably stolen?!

I’ll tell you what’s gotten into Arizona. The GOP sends out the most extreme people for the primary labeling anyone else as a RINO. Arizona is not a far right red state. It leans Republican, but it is much more moderate. The same thing’s gonna happen, I predict, in the Governor race. As much as I want Andy Biggs to win, I just don’t think he can. I pray I’m wrong.
Gray shouldn’t be safe, especially after these revelations which his constituents will never hear (or care) about, but he is probably quite safe.
When Democrats gerrymandered California’s U.S. House districts last year in “response” to what happened in Texas, they not only screwed Republicans as hard as possible, but their plan was was such genius that they ALSO protected their most vulnerable incumbents at the same time.
Gray is (was) one of those vulnerable ones. His district (CD-13) was rated as even prior to the gerrymander and is now D+3. That’s still tossup territory, but every little bit helps, and D+3 is likely 95% safe in the 2026 political environment.
Democrats took a combined 57% of the vote in the CD-13 open primary in June. The leading GOP candidate had 27%.
Gray will win easily in November against Kevin Lincoln (R), possibly by close to 10 points. Unless these new facts hurt him. LOL — a Democrat hurt by unreported or underreported facts. Yeah, right.
Every other Democrat in the CA House delegation who needed help, got help. Especially Josh Harder (CD-9). But also George Whitesides, Dave Min, Derek Tran and Mike Levin.
Bottom line: CA was ALREADY heavily gerrymandered to help Democrats even before 2025. What else would you call it where Republicans take 40% of the total House vote yet only get 17% of the seats? That’s exactly what happened in 2024.
And in 2026 it’s going to be more like 8% of the seats (4 of 52), or if *everything* goes right, then maybe 11-12% (6 of 52).
Means absolutely nothing if there is no jail time.
