Famed civil rights attorney >>>>> Ben Crump <<<< announced the findings in a Wednesday press conference alongside Wells’ heartbroken parents, Christine and Elmore Wonsley.

Crump also claimed that Wells’ body was found face down and fully clothed, despite photos from the day showing him wearing swimming trunks.

Nolan Wells’ preliminary independent autopsy findings have been released after the teenager vanished following a Fourth of July boating trip in Mississippi.

Wells, 18, had red discoloration to the back of his head, according to the autopsy performed by Dr. Roger Mitchell, President of the National Medical Association.

However, his cause and manner of death were given as undetermined pending investigation, with the date of death also unknown.

I have found myself drawn to a number of online discussions about this case. It has mostly been a cesspool of disgusting filth. Crump and Sharpton have lathered up their followers who are some of the most racist folks on earth.

Liberal Activists trying to stir up outrage for political and financial gain?

Reminds me of this.

Hopefully the gofundme will be enough to cover the defamation suit that the white friends should file (but probably won't) for the insinuation that they had something to do with this kid's death. Why is this getting so much media attention? People drown all the time, unfortunately.

Former NHL goaltender, Ray Emery, drowned under similar circumstances back in 2018 in Canada. There was no mass media conspiracy theory that his white friends had anything to do with his drowning. I guess the media needs to 'fan the flames' to try to recreate 2020. Meanwhile, young black men are ending each other every day in every urban area throughout the nation, and we hear crickets from the media. We can't despise the media enough.

Due to a lack of definitive forensic tests, drowning is considered a diagnosis of exclusion. The ME thus has to exclude other possible causes of death, such as heart attack, stroke, drugs, alcohol, trauma, and so on. As essentially negative lab results from tests for those come in, the conclusion of death by drowning based on the circumstances will emerge as the cause of death.

The manner of death can then be assessed. In the absence of evidence of suicide or intentional harm by others, accidental drowning is near certain to become the final autopsy determination, with alcohol or drugs as a possible contributing factor. The discoloration on the back of the head is most likely to be due to accidental post-mortem abrasion as Wells' friends moved his body and desperately tried to revive him.

Once the autopsy is final and withstands scrutiny, Ben Crump will move on, with a cut of the take from the Go Fund Me campaign in his pocket. The ill will that Crump stoked will fade over time.

This “independent” autopsy was performed by the National Medical Association, a group “committed to improving the quality of health among minorities and disadvantaged people.” Not exactly a non-partisan association.

“What kind of result is that? They didn’t find if he was struck in the head, was this sunburn?”

He was on a popular partying island. Most likely he died from drowning after too much drinking. His body was found where there are strong currents. Since he went there with white friends this simple drowning turns into a big hullabaloo.

His white friends boated back to shore without him. He stayed because of a girl he was interested in. He was a decent swimmer.

“accidental drowning is near certain to become the final autopsy determination, with alcohol or drugs as a possible contributing factor.”

He was an athlete and a decent swimmer. He was done in by drinking (weed?) then getting caught in strong currents while it was dark outside (my guess) His body was found where the currents are strong.

Hookup yes. His friends left, he stayed behind on “partying island” due to a girl he was after.

“His friends left, he stayed behind on “partying island” due to a girl he was after.”

That sentence reminds me of the Chappaquiddick Incident. Different results.

The race hustlers were very quick to arrive. But the white elderly couple just up the road murdered by a black teen get no attention. no press coverage, nothing.

I was in a laundromat in Kansas and waiting when 2 black guys in their 30s were talking about their kids one of them said his 2 have gone to Dallas for the summer with the baby mama, the other guy asked if he was worried about their safety and then he said No problem they are both insured. I realized it’s how they do business.

Rocks highly unlikely

I know Ship Horn Cat and Petit Bois well

Chandelier and Breton too

It’s sandy

There’s circumstances probably selectively reported that look fishy

But it’d be nice to have an accurate timeline wouldn’t it

Sadly google front loads scores of crap that just feeds the BS

The fact it’s my home state makes irresistible to race hustlers

Hopefully someone will get real info out there

He was obviously a black kid in a fairly high black population area who chose to run “white”

Probably so, and a good chance he didn’t know how to swim. A sudden drop like that in still water would just be a laugh for a decent swimmer.

Long ago (1957-1959) I attended an integrated high school. The black kids were great in all sports except swimming, where they sank like rocks. Swimming, OTOH, was the only one where I was decent.

” sparking even more questions”

The question sparked by this press conference: “how low can Crump go?”

The autopsy found nothing new, and nothing that indicated a crime had been committed. The pathologist admits that his autopsy can’t be complete until the toxicology report is complete, and opined that determining the cause of death will likely depend on knowing what happened to Nolan Wells before he drowned. Ya think? Crump turns this to a demand that the Sheriff subpoena the phones of every person who was on the island — 100’s of them. Why doesn’t Crump use the GoFundMe money to pay private detectives to run all that down? It’s not the Sheriff’s job to find a crime for Crump’s convenience.

If he stayed on the island he anticipated getting a ride back with someone else.

If he was talking to a girl has anyone identified her? Spoken to her? Did she have a boyfriend that might resent Nolan?

What do his black friends who were there that day have to say?

Oddly, most drowning victims know how to swim and are in good health. And drowning can happen suddenly and with little struggle when someone inhales water by accident.

Wouldn’t there be water in the lungs to confirm the drowning?
Do we know anything about his friends finding and trying to revive him?
It seems I’ve heard zero about him being found or any other circumstances.

This independent ME was unusual (to me) because reading about it the examiner was saying most of the organs including the brain and stomach had been removed in the official autopsy and more info would have to come from those test results.
Also that the body had decomposed. So it seemed this ME had very limited value.

The forensic problem is to determine if an injury, toxin, alcohol, or drug caused or contributed to the drowning. Those details matter to the manner of death, whether accidental or intentional.

The usual practice is that there is professional cooperation between official and private medical examiners as to tissue samples and test results. In any court case, the autopsy findings will matter even if they are less than definitive as to the cause and manner of of death.

For example, a private autopsy might find evidence of trauma that the official autopsy missed. If so, the issue might become whether the trauma was due to injuries from an accident or fight. That in turn might establish a case for negligence or intentional wrong doing -- and then a payday for Crump.
