Tulsi Gabbard's older brother was arrested after he allegedly tried to lure children into his Hawaii hotel room using cash and gum.
Bhakti 'Batarti' Gabbard, 55, is accused of approaching several children, including a nine-year-old boy, near the pool at a hotel in Waikīkī on July 12, according to Honolulu police.

My Hawaiian friend says Tulsi started out aligned with her father, but then drifted to the left - especially on social issues. She may still have those leanings but on the important issues she’s been solidly MAGA.

Don’t know he ever helped her. Tulsi Gabbard, like a large amount of the Gabbard family, has been democratic for many years. Tulsi, herself, switched to libertarian then to republican over the last decade.
The brother is one of those dark sheep in the family. He has had psychological problems tied into drugs for years. He has been in and out of treatment and has a history of violence as his wife is filing for a restraining order. At the time of the incident, he had coke and grass in his system. So thinking he was tied into his sister other than related may be stretching the relationship. And the article doesn’t really waive away from that level of familiarity.

However, 55-year-old Batarti “Bhakti” Gabbard, was arrested
in Hawaii on July 17, 2026, wrt a “stranger danger” incident.

Just curious, since I know a few people who have homeless relatives in their families, and if they had the means, they would set these family members up in some kind of housing since for their own family’s safety they can’t exactly bring them into the house when they won’t abide by the house rules.
