Tulsi Gabbard's older brother was arrested after he allegedly tried to lure children into his Hawaii hotel room using cash and gum.
Bhakti 'Batarti' Gabbard, 55, is accused of approaching several children, including a nine-year-old boy, near the pool at a hotel in Waikīkī on July 12, according to Honolulu police.

He allegedly approached kids (incl. a 9-year-old), offered gum + money, asked names (wrote them down), and invited them to his room. Children refused and left. No one went with him.
Family (father Sen. Mike Gabbard) says mental health crisis after drug binge; he was hospitalized for psych evaluation. No other charges reported.
Batari needs to get off the booze for a while.

I just now found out that Tulsi’s father, Mike Gabbard is a Hawaii State Senator, and has held this seat since 2006.
Why didn’t I already know that? This may help to explain
some of the ‘dignity and elegance’ that seems to emanate from her presence. I could not quite define it before.
She learned how a public figure should conduct himself, by watching her Dad during his Senatorial career.
As for (Bumbling Brother) Batarti, every family has it’s ‘unfortunate’ situations that must be endured and closely managed.

Father Mike has taken the opposite career path of his daughter. He once was elected as a Republican in Hawaii (which is almost literally an impossibility today). Of course he was a liberal and still is, but now he’s a Democrat and has been for several years.
Tulsi went from moderate/liberal Democrat to moderate/perhaps somewhat conservative Republican.
