16% isn’t a very dramatic reduction.
You are absolutely correct that we need to flip Virginia back to red and the key to that is to drain out Occupied Northern Virginia. If we could hive off Louden, Arlington and Fairfax counties, that alone would do it.
Even figuring only a $100,000 salary, and the average is probably higher, that’s $6 Billion reduction in base salary. Plus a benefit package plus job related expenses (car, parking, travel) and surely there were expense account/gov’t credit card abuses, the savings may be well over $10 Billion.

Good post empty Fairfax that is the part of Virginia it needs to be shipped somewhere else and turn Virginia back red like it should be
