The English word ‘snake’ comes from the Old English word ‘snaca.’ The reptile is thought to have come from terrestrial lizards that existed around 174.1 million to 163.5 million years ago. In fact, Eophis underwoodi, the oldest fossil snake, lived in England about 167 million years ago. However, even before researchers learned about the numerous snake species, the reptile was mentioned in ancient mythologies and was also an integral part of various religions. For instance, in the Bible Satan took on the form of a snake that existed in the Garden of Eden. And it is due to the snake that Eve consumed the forbidden apple and was banished.
According to Irish mythology, in the 5th century, St. Patrick went to a hill top where he fasted for 40 days. During this time, he was attacked by snakes. To protect himself, he waved his staff and expelled all the snakes of Ireland into the sea. This is why, even today, Ireland is devoid of snakes.

"World Snake Day" certainly is an interesting topic in its time for a number of reasons.
For starters, snake (Hebrew nachash, נחש) and Messiah (Mashiach, משיח) are the classic examples given in the Jewish world for the concept of "a thing and its opposite" (dvar vehipuchu, דבר והיפוכו):
One snake that stands out historically is the first one, THE snake, the one that convinced Chava to eat from the Aitz HaDa'as Tov v'Ra, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, against God's will. Thanks to his ruse and advice, Mankind was sent into the longest exile to date, the one that won't conclude until Moshiach ends it. Hence, the gematria of Moshiach (40+300+10+8) and nachash (50+300+8) are equal, 358, since they represent two opposite sides of the same coin. The snake caused us to go into exile and Moshiach will bring us out of exile.
The date chosen [by whomever, whenever] -- 7/16 -- links to the teaching, because the thing AND its opposite (nachash + Mashiach) = 716.
And also because when 358 is added to its opposite (reverse): 358 + 853 = 1211 = 173 x 7 =
"All roads lead to Mashiach" ( כל הדרכים מובילות למשיח),
853 + 358
Or the serpent, depending:
"In the path that a person wants to walk -- he is led." (Makkot 10b.5)
The Messiah-358 comparison also works with "The Grinch" ('הגרינץ) who also = 358. Unlike the serpent, though, the Grinch had an epiphany that maybe Christmas didn't come from a store. He got to thinking and as a result, his heart grew three sizes that day.
Thus concerning Christmas and the time (July) --
"A thing and its opposite" (דבר והיפוכו) = 339
The opposite of 339 is 933 =
The Sunshine Protection Act (חוק קיבוע שעון הקיץ), more literally "the law fixing (to make permanent) the summer clock" (the Hebrew term for DST).

Genesis 3 does not mention Satan, just the serpent. The serpent’s motive in tricking Eve into eating the forbidden fruit is not stated.
Just who decided we needed this rather useless day? Not that a snake is completely useless as they do have their uses, but why do they need a special day & who created this idea? Just wondering.
I believe the serpent’s idea in tricking Eve was so that she & Adam might not completely trust God. It didn’t completely work,but certainly played a part in world history & the workings of Satan.
