Western Governments Have a Shelf Life
American Thinker ^ | 15 Jul, 2026 | J.B. Shurk

Many Western governments will eventually collapse because they do not serve the interests of their peoples. As a quick thought experiment, ask yourself what policy matters the governments of Canada, the United Kingdom, and the European Union consider most important.

Based on what I hear from the speeches of Western politicians and what I see from Western mainstream media publications, I would include these issues near the top of any list: (1) fighting “climate change”; (2) encouraging the mass immigration of foreign nationals; (3) replacing Western civilization with “multiculturalism”; (4) branding national self-interest as “fascism”; (5) demonizing “white supremacy” while giving preferential treatment to those with “diversity” of skin color; (6) undermining nuclear families consisting of one mother, one father, and their children; (7) treating abortion-on-demand as “healthcare” and a “sacred” right; (8) treating assisted suicide as “healthcare” and a moral good; (9) celebrating homosexuality; (10) rejecting biological sex; (11) embracing pseudoscientific “transgenderism” that promotes the sterilization and bodily mutilation of young children; (12) central banking that manipulates the value of national currencies; (13) offshoring industrial and manufacturing firms to third-world, often adversarial nations; (14) disarming citizens; (15) spying on citizens; (16) criminalizing citizens’ public and private speech; (17) censoring online information; (18) mandating the dissemination of government propaganda; (19) criminalizing citizens’ Christian beliefs; (20) refusing to prosecute or imprison thieves, robbers, rapists, and murderers; (21) nationalizing health care while mandating experimental “vaccinations”; (22) instituting military conscription; (23) instigating foreign wars without the public’s consent; (24) promulgating endless bureaucratic rules and regulations without voters’ consent; (25) taxing citizens and confiscating their property without their consent.

These twenty-five issues are by no means exhaustive, but they capture an accurate snapshot of Western governments’ priorities. In every instance, however, these policies either directly attack Western citizens or make their lives more difficult.

ALL governments have a shelf life - except the only one that was promised as an everlasting government.

And in Iran they just shoot them. And China, and...

They are all, good or bad, on borrowed time. Just like you and me.

Let me make sure I’m not trying to black pill here - I am as offended and horrified at most of this as should be. But government is a necessary EVIL. The government that governs LEAST governs BEST. We have given this power to the government and are suffering now because of it. The only solution is to take a lot of the power back. If we don’t (and it’s unlikely we will) entropy WILL ensue. It’s been that way since Adam took a bite of the “apple”.

The American government stopped caring about We, the People, a very long time ago.

The Roman Empire was not all peaches and cream, but it did provide a somewhat stable, centrally administered political entity for centuries. Then came barbarian invasions and people from Asia and Northern Europe moved into the lands of the Roman Empire and changed everything. Rome fell in the West and Europe entered a period of political instability with no stable administration in most areas.

But eventually, starting in about 800 AD, Europe began to form cohesive political units. Over a number of centuries, one by one we can see countries form: France, England, Spain, Poland, etc. Italy and Germany remained fragmented but they formed cohesive countries in the 19th century. Europe had a lot of wars and a lot of ups and downs, but Europe — and the countries of Europe — had an identity. They meant something.

I think that’s all falling apart now. We are in a new age of migrations, and I don’t think national identities will survive. As I see it, the only way to really deviate from the current trajectory would involve killing many millions of people. And we won’t do that. So western civilization is going to die.

Which is what was predicted in late years of the first millennium resulting in what are usually described as the Crusades that resulted in the formation of the countries and coalitions you’re talking about.

Western culture has faced these kinds of existential crises before. I suspect it will weather this one. But for sure it is an existential crisis.

In America, our values are still strong and held by a majority. However, we have long held the belief that freedom means that we let others live however they choose.

Unfortunately, a growing number of Americans believe they need to tell others how to live and they are gathering political power.

They keep pushing us to accept unacceptable things like transgenderism, income redistribution, and illegal immigration.

Sooner or later, we're going to have to push back. The 2024 presidential election was such a moment. But the radicals keep fighting, and I believe the Trump administration found there are quite a few problems to deal with, and it's hard to focus just on one.

We're in a tough fight, for sure. But, we have more strength than we know.

——We are in a new age of migrations,——

Both Rome and Europe should be considered in purely biological, Darwinian, terms, rather than just purely political

That is, Survival Of The Fittest.

As a population weakens, the habitat is gradually invaded by what were historically weaker verities. As time progresses, what happens is that the genetically stronger variety will occupy the habitat.

In Rome, the northerners proved to be the most viable Homo sapiens variety, and over a long time occupied what had been Rome.

In the Europe now weakened by the wars of the last century, there are at least two verities of the Homo sapiens species seeking to occupy the habitat. One is Black African and the other is Islamic north African.

Pure unadulterated biology is at work for ever altering the human habitat

Many and any government will collapse if it allows invading forces. There is one such force on earth whose single purpose is to conquer every civilization. Islam is the existential threat to all civilization.

They're already hugely unpopular in every place except Canuckistan and that's only because Boomer Canucks were stupid enough to fall for Carney's BS about "protecting" Canada from big bad Trump....as if a little trash talk comprised an existential threat to them.

Labour won a loveless landslide in the UK only because Reform and the Tories split the vote on the Right. Labour actually got a lower percentage of the vote than they'd gotten in the previous election. Two Tier Kier was so unpopular he had to resign halfway through his 6 year term. Labour's support has utterly collapsed.

Merz is THE most unpopular Chancellor of Germany for as far back as political polling goes in that country. The Establishment Parties teaming up to protect the Establishment at all costs against their only real opposition, the AfD is only increasing the AfD's popularity - they are now the most popular party in the country.

Macron is hugely unpopular in France. He actually lost the last election but was able to cobble together a coalition of the losers to stay in power for the time being. The Establishment is so scared of the National Front and Marine Le Pen that they openly engaged in lawfare against her (just like the Establishment is doing vis a vis the AfD in Germany) to try to keep her off the ballot. That effort just failed.

Similarly Dirty Sanchez is broadly unpopular in Spain and has been kept in office only because the Right was fractured. He's resorted to the desperate measure of trying to legalize hordes of foreign invaders without any parliamentary support for doing so.

Geert Wilders' party the PVV is tied for being the largest party in the Netherlands. Once again, there is a coalition of the losers running the government now in an effort to keep the PVV out of office.

There is another Coalition of the Losers currently in office in Austria after the Freedom Party actually won the last election.

Noticing a pattern? Traditional parties in country after country in Western Europe are done or are facing unprecedented decline. It turns out people don't actually like their agenda nor do they like getting poorer or watching their formerly beautiful countries turn into dangerous 3rd world hellholes.

Since the Governments of the USA is far more reaching than Trump, the USA should not be excluded from the above list.

This article misses the point to a certain extent. Western democracies create a system where politicians are constantly looking for votes and giving voters what they want to get votes. That ultimately results in oppression of minorities of all types. In the US, initially politicians voted money to the majority paid for by the “rich” minority and ultimately, found it easy to borrow to pay for extra money for the majority. Now they are trapped into doing that. To stop borrowing, they would need to either cut spending dramatically or enact a massive middle class tax increase, neither of which are popular. A lot of the other policies mentioned in the article are simply ways that politicians have of getting votes at the expense of the new politically disenfrachised class - native citizens.

We’re being invaded by the Islamic hoard and others who consider us their enemy. We won’t defend ourselves against them and those who are the treason within.

The United States is going to fade into history. Lost to the same ones that destroyed the other great nations of the past. We didn’t learn a damned thing... :(
