Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent@SecScottBessent
·11hAs America commemorates 250 years of independence, the @usmint will begin striking this new $1 gold coin to honor the enduring legacy of liberty and a lasting symbol of patriotism. Featuring President Trump, it celebrates the strength of American values, and the promise of a nation dedicated to preserving freedom for all.

We differ in our opinion.
I’m glad you said it so I don’t have to. I wonder who that binkie would rather have. In all her posts, she seems perpetually annoyed.
Im a Trump supported (90%) but this is a terrible idea. This is what dictators do.
Not necessary narcissism.
These type of threads are golden, as the haters can’t help but out themselves. Like the Commiecrats, they have little self-control.
You don’t like the coin or the $100 bill, don’t buy or use them.
You think the new bill or the commemorative coin are illegal - sue.
But just beotching here b/c you’re triggered is disrespectful to JimRob’s forum.
You are right, Texas. The US Mint is producing Obama coins. And as you said, they are officially called “medals”.
But there is a very significant difference between an Obama medal and a Trump coin. The Trump coin is legal US money. It’s not just some stupid souvenir.
The US Mint should not be in the souvenir medal business.
And it should not be putting any living person on US currency.
Both are wildly inappropriate.
Any true gold coin would require it's gold content be stated on the text on the coin !!
Too .... whatever ...
It’s tiring. Trump could get a dog and they’d bitch about the breed.
Just like Dems.
I’m done after 30 years here. No longer worth my time.
Regards.
SOMETHING SAD ABOUT THIS
President Trump is a great president. A man of tremendous ability and transformational influence on the history of our nation and the world.
But something about his need for immediate recognition and his inability to allow history to render its judgment with appropriate honors in my view tarnishes his legacy. Naming Art Centers after yourself and having coins struck with your image while you are alive isn’t something a confident and self assured man would do. It’s as if he has some empty hole inside himself that he is driven to fill but is never quite able to do it with all the wealth and power and beautiful women he has amassed.
When is enough, enough?
Something about this man is a Greek tragedy.
Is Trump dead? Because otherwise he is not going on money. It’s a law.
But I don’t think it’s a good idea.
The national debt would be one of the main reasons many see this as wasteful spending. If we’re going to borrow more money to buy US coins, I’d rather see the penny extended. It has a lot more historical value and other benefits than this coin ever will.

I like the Trump ego-tripping here. Making DemonRat heads explode everywhere! Same for our commie tilted media.
btw The Trump one dollar coin is non-circulating. I was hoping it would be a silver dollar of sorts.
yes!
That wasn’t the gist of my comment.
Well that would be a shame, and I hope you’ll reconsider. But, the forum is a conservative forum, and a lot of things the President does simply aren’t conservative. If Hillary was President (thank you God she’s not) this place would be coming apart over her mug being placed on some American 250 vanity coin, and rightfully so. This is simply an unnecessary big government expenditure any way you slice it. Best regards if I don’t hear back.
Even funnier. Thanks.
Stupid ass. Coolidge was put on a coin for the 150th anniversary. Nobody gave a shit, then or now. Shut you pie hole before you do research.
As I recall Gerald Ford was president during the Bicentennial.
He was, at best, a placeholder president.
No one would even consider putting him on a coin.
