I saw it in 1986 with binoculars--with difficulty. I assumed that the main reason was light pollution. I won't be around in 2061.

As I remember it was during a full moon that the 1986 Halley’s Comet appeared. The moonlight almost completely obscured the comet. From my backyard it was barely visible. When I visited a local astronomy club’s public viewing it was not much better through a large telescope.
