Why is this case being drawn out so long? Do normal murderer usually get such treatment?

Yes, it is sickening. The system fawns over a degenerate transvestite furry. The system draws this out months on end. Disgraceful. It's a black mark upon Utah. Utah fancies itself a cowboy state of wide open spaces. But in reality, it's almost as bureaucratic as California. Think California run by a weird synthetic pseudo religious cult.

As far as I know from watching quite a few live murder trials, yes they do. It is done to protect all parties involved.

Remember, this little feral animal is “innocent until proven guilty” in our country.

“...He’s wearing a gray suit and dark tie, along with handcuffs and ankle cuffs...”

Hope the hand and ankle cuffs matched. Seem really a clash for him not to be dressed in the best fashion of the time. Who cares. This whole article was not to call it equal justice but a opinionated entry to his welfare and that his attorneys can find a way to get him off.

But let’s look at the evidence:

Robinson faces charges of aggravated murder, two counts of obstruction of justice and felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, two counts of witness tampering and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child.

He came in voluntarily. But he knew it was just inevitable with all the law enforcement pressure that he, his picture in the news, the gun, the gun on the news,” he said. “He knew it was inevitable that he would be caught.”

And one of the first things the attorneys did was try for a plea bargain away from the death penalty.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like duck...

A preliminary hearing should be one day tops. As I understand it, no evidence is being entered, only a plea and the probable cause statement that indicted him.

I’ve learned that the lawyer game is to draw out every legal process for as long as possible. For obvious reasons. They’re all in on it, even the court, who, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn, get a kick-back.

In a way I want him to plead guilty and save the taxpayers’ money. But on the other hand, I do NOT want the death penalty taken off the table.

He told his parents what he had done, and they were the ones who turned him in to law enforcement.

If he can plead guilty and still receive the death penalty, DO it. The woman who is his lawyer is a publicity hound. I watched her on the Kouri Richins trial, and she objects to everything. Just to get attention, in my opinion.

Most are let go much sooner. /S (my cynicism admitted).

"The vast majority of murder accusations do not go to trial; defendants frequently accept plea bargains to lesser charges (such as manslaughter or second-degree murder) to avoid the risk of maximum penalties."

10-14% of US murder cases end in acquittals, case dismissals, or mistrials. Some are later overturned; the National Registry of Exonerations tracks wrongful convictions, with roughly 79% of homicide exonerations marred by official misconduct.--Nat.Reg. of Exonerations website.

Ha. He is supposed to have a gay lover and the reputation is for gay men to be really top drawer at accessorizing.

“THE LONGER IT DRAGS ON-—THE MORE BILLABLE HOURS.”

Reminds me of the Demotivator poster. “Consultants. There’s money to be made by prolonging the problem”.

Applies to the healthcare industry, too.

You’re right. Of course, the Robinson family is paying for his private lawyers, I would assume.

Justice is slow. That seems to be the unwritten rule.

They did show him from behind at the beginning of the hearing, and his suit looked pretty wrinkled to me...ill fitting.

I am listening to the hearing and the defense is objecting by saying that all evidence should not be admitted.
